Children With Big Heads
Review of Close My Eyes DVD by sghawken

Advantages: Stunning piece of art.
Disadvantages: About 15 minutes too long

...and forgives them both. Close My Eyes, for me is one of the most memorable pieces of British Cinema. The only flaw is that it goes on for a quarter of an hour longer than it should. This could alienate a viewer. SPECIAL FEATURES The only special feature is a series of interviews with the cast. There are no Subtitles or other languages. ... Read review

Huffy The Vampire Bore
Review of Queen Of The Damned (Wide Screen) by  utero

Advantages: It's very short
Disadvantages: Disjointed, bad direction, boring, stupid

...Before I go to bed I often check what’s on Sky movies in the nocturnal hours. If something catches my eye then I’ll fire up the DVD recorder, close my eyes and wake up with another movie to watch. I have to say I wasn’t too bothered about watching Queen of the Damned, I knew it was a sequel of sorts to Interview with a Vampire. However none of the cast members from that movie had returned. It also had the distinction of being the last movie of singer Aaliyah’s short career before her death. I had read reports that this movie was actually destined to straight to video due to its quality. However the death of its star gave it a theatrical release. Now I don’t mean this in a disrespectful way but Aaliyah’s probably in the best place, as she didn’t have to sit through the final product. The vampire Lestat (Stuart Townsend) awakes from his... Ray is on my mind
Review of Ray DVD by  christianfilmcritic

Advantages: Brilliant music
Disadvantages: None

.... There is also an option for Descriptive Audio for the blind and vision impaired audience. I actually tried this out and closed my eyes and listened to the descriptions, it amazed me how the descriptions illustrated the story with words. On the second DVD, you get more bonus features. For some reason this second disc is available in 18 different languages and 10 different subtitle languages. There are 7 deleted scenes. Some of these help link the film together, other I am grateful that they were removed as they seem a bit pointless. There are 2 extended musical scenes. The second of the 2 "Hit The Road Jack" is my favourite out of the 2, but they are both very entertaining. Next you get "Stepping into the Part", which is amazing as you get to see Jamie Foxx and Ray Charles jamming together. This is basically the moulding of Jamie Foxx into Ray... Read review

Review of Shrek - The Story Continues (3-D) (Animated) by  liz1102

Advantages: A great movie and a nice short piece before the sequel
Disadvantages: none really ...

...line is 'let the honeymoon begin' and this is how they link to Shrek 2. It's not much as a stand-alone movie, and is nothing like Shrek 2, but as a short piece in-between, it serves its purpose. In the box come 2 pairs of cardboard 3-D glasses to allow you to watch the movie in 3D. Places like Amazon claim you get 4 pairs, but I'm sure there have only ever been 2 in my box! Personally I've never had much luck with the glasses - whether that's because of my eyes, or watching on a laptop too close, or because they are flimsy card things, I don't know, but the DVD also gives you the option of watching the same footage in non-3D … is that 2D? You still get some of the effect, such as Shrek waving a spider under your nose, but it's not jumping out at you. You do kinda feel stupid sitting with the 3D glasses on after a while, so maybe it's a good... Read review
