Prosee review

Conssee review

Cliffhanger is an all out action thriller from the director who gave us Die Hard 2 amongst other things. With that sort of pedigree you would be forgiven for thinking that this ought to be one hell of a movie, and yoy know what? It is! Sylvester Stallone plays an expert mountaneer, and ex-member...

“Don't look down”

Progreat action and camera work

Consa little unrealistic, but who's picky?

I don't know why people say that, don't look down. It just makes you think about it then look. Anyway..... I knew this was going to have a little more meaning than his usual gun-fight movies when he has that little accident on the mountain right at the start (don't want to reveal too much). With...

ConsA bit heavy on the swearing.

***Cliffhanger (1993)*** This is one of those films that if you don't have high expectations, can pleasantly surprise you. I always enjoy action adventure films of this type if executed well and perhaps I was biased knowing that Sylvester Stallone was a lead actor, but I didn't expect much from...

They're amazing these DVD thingies. Those of you who've yet to sign up to 'the digital revolution' should consider this as an object lesson in why you should. By now most of you have probably, at some point or another, seen Cliffhanger. It was a big film at the time, quite well received by the...

ConsShowing its age. Poor script.

The 80's and 90's are considered by many to be the golden age of the action movie genre. Films like Die Hard, Hard Boiled and Lethal Weapon defined a generation of blockbuster cinema. Although the genre is still going strong (as evidenced by this years brilliant Fast Five and the current spate of...

ProGood action film

ConsDan from Eastenders

If you are a one armed rockclimber hanging from a cliff? Well that is not answered in this film. Neither is the reason to make an innocent girl fall to her death just to give Sly stallone a reason to have a hang up ( excuse the pun) about climbing rocks. Its a good action packed film with...

ProGreat acting and action

Consa bit far fetched

Cliffhanger is Stallone at the peak of his career in this unique action movie. It has great action with a twist. The twist being that most of it takes place thousands of feet up a cliff face. Stallone plays a mountain climber distressed after failing to save a close friend and he responds to a...

ConsStallone is in it, hmmmmmm.......

Some very scary moments at the beginning of this film, and it develops nicely into an action thriller, with Stallone climbing and fighting his way around a mountain with some truly villainous villans, who are intent on recovering some money they "dropped" during a skyjack. The action sequences...

There are some Stallone movies I like, but this movie didn't meet my low expectations. I found this movie hard to believe. For example, a bunch of terrorists who crash land in the wilderness are prepared to survive for at least two days. Also, in all this wilderness Stallone and company keep...

ProGreat film

ConsNone

I love this film. If you have the quality of DVD with a wide screen TV you are in for a treat. DVDF adds a new edge to this film somehow. I think its the dramatic filming sequences at the start are much clearer with the laser quality. This film is proof that Slyvester Stallone can play a part...

Consnone......

I hadn't seen "Cliffhanger" in a long time not since I was twelve and saw it on the big screen with my dad. It was cool then and since not a lot has changed in six and a half years it's cool now. Renny Harlin makes "Cliffhanger" work but I don't know if I can forgive him for "The Long Kiss...

ProStallone's muscles

ConsAll around just awful

Dazzled by a short preview featured on another movie, I rented this one expecting a thrilling movie with gorgeous views. The gorgeous views are about the only good thing about this. ProAction packed,Great film

ConsLittle hard to believe at some parts of the film

This is another great movie starring Stallone. It's a must for any Sly Stallone fan. This film is one of the best that I have seen not for the actors but for the action and for the storyline. Sly is very good in this film, I don't think he done his own stunts (can you imagine hanging from a cliff...

ConsSo does eating sawdust

Are you a Stallone fetishist? Then this is for you. For everyone else, it's dull, predictable and only mildly more diverting than your average crossword (if it's been filled in already; if it hasn't, go for the crossword). Stallone sleepwalks through yet another pile of the proverbial. I know...
