Advantages: You tell me Disadvantages: All of them
...Cliffhanger
This movie is great. If you define great as combining bad acting with an inaudible dialogue. This really is a shambles of a motion picture, it lacks every thing that a good movie should have: Good actors, lots of action, great special effects, and of course, most importantly, an unbelievably sexy woman. Do yourself a favour, don't rent, buy or waste time watching this movie, go for a 2 hour walk instead. Sylvester Stallone, i pity you my friend. What went so wrong after the rockies and the rambos? I have NO idea....

Advantages: Great acting and action Disadvantages: a bit far fetched
...Cliffhanger is Stallone at the peak of his career in this unique action movie. It has great action with a twist. The twist being that most of it takes place thousands of feet up a cliff face. Stallone plays a mountain climber distressed after failing to save a close friend and he responds to a call. The call is a hoax so they can be forced to find thousands of dollars for a ruthless gang. The mountains are the real stars and the action does get far fetched like when Sly hangs from a mountain by one arm or scales a sheer cliff only wearing a T-shirt. All this doesn’t matter because it all adds up to a great movie....

DVD Description
After a ranger (Sylvester Stallone) fails to rescue his partner's girlfriend from a tragic death in the Rocky Mountains, he leaves the rescue team to wrestle with his guilt. When he returns to reconcile his relationship with his own girlfriend (Janine Turner), also a rescue ranger, he is drawn into one last mission. This time, the victims they are rescuing turn out to be deadly criminals who are hauling away a large amount of cash. Directed by Renny Harlin (DIE HARD 2) and also starring John Lithgow (as the villain) and Michael Rooker.
Advantages: Disaster movie for the nineties Disadvantages: Nowt new and predictable
...Yes.This film did deserve to see the light of day. It is another of those films which is fun to watch but has no deep meaning and anything else. This is one of few Action movies in which Guns aren't a major part of the thrills(Which makes a change). Stallone is a rescue guy(Ala Cliffhanger) who isn't working at the moment(Ala Cliffhanger). He has to step in to save a load of people who are trapped in a flooding tunnel(Ala Cliffhanger. Well sort of). It has a fair bit of action which is satisfying enough. It is a return to the disaster flicks of the seventies. The towering Inferno and The Poseidon adventure spring to mind. This film resembles The Poseidon adventure most as it contains alot of water.
Rent this out for entertainment value but don't expect it to change your life....
