Advantages: Great fun family film Disadvantages: Not For Sci-Fi haters.
...I am a will smith fan anyway, so i chose to watch this film because of that reson but when i finished watching this film i believed it to be one of Will Smith's greatest film ever. It combines a very action based film with wit and comedy alongside the very sci-fi genre. This film gets you going right from the very start and keeps you on the edge of your seat until the end. In particular Will Smiths original witty and amusing talent on this film is going to help this film become a great classic. The special effects are state of the art, the soundtracks are cool, and every scene has its own contribution to the great ending. This film is one of those films which make you feel that the world is one big community. This film is packed with action, comedy, romance and a hell of alot of aliens!...

...This film started a number of careers, and it's definitely a classic and a high moment in the career of director Richard Linklater.
It is a fictionalization of high school graduation weekend of the senior class of 1976 in Linklater’s former home city of Austin, Texas. Jocks, rednecks, cheerleaders, stoners, frosh, and the other high school demographic groups are all lovingly and respectfully rendered on Linklater’s canvas. Though I didn’t graduate until the mid-‘80s, I’m pretty sure that the amount of pot smoking is this film is not exaggerated. And as evidence of the director’s commitment to brutal realism, Foghat’s “Slow Ride” is heard not once, not twice, but three times before the end of the movie. Rock on. If u enjoy teen flicks this ones for you....
