Who's Next is, without a doubt, one of the greatest albums of all time. With classics like Won't Get Fooled Again and Baba O'Riley and less popular but equally spectacular gems like The Song is Over (a personal favourite of mine) and My Wife, the token Entwistle track, it's worked its way into the national consciousness. The story of its creation has been told in a hundred different ways by a hundred different people, but this DVD is undoubtedly one of the best.
It starts quite slowly, going through the band's early days with archive footage of Can't Explain and My Generation to ease the viewer in. To long time Who fans, these probably won't be new and neither will the story, so this part of the DVD is aimed more at newcomers than at die-hard fans.
Once it gets going, the DVD is very informative. Interviews with the surviving members, including the late John Entwistle, and Glyn Johns, the producer, tell the story of the album's conception, creation and release.
Individual tracks are gone over in detail, particularly the most popular and famous tracks like Won't Get Fooled Again and Behing Blue Eyes, whilst less well known tracks get a bit sidelined. Disappointing for fans, who've heard it all before, but more useful for those who don't, particualrly the CSI generation, for whom Won't Get Fooled Again is CSI: Miami and Baba O'Riley is CSI: New York, now they can find out the story behind the classic tracks.
All in all it's an informative and frequently entretaining DVD which serves its purpose, but didn't grab my attention enough to watch it again.

DVD Description
WHO'S NEXT is viewed by many as the greatest testimony of the songwriting talent of Pete Townshend--and the musical power of The Who. The story behind how the band came together to make the album titled "Who's Next" is told by the band members themselves and those who were close to the group in extensive detail. Early archival footage of the band performing classic tracks such as "I Can't Explain" and "My Generation" helps illustrate how the band went from playing small London clubs to the rock and roll giants they've since become.
