Class Action - Vol. 1
An extremely dubious premise even by the crassly exploitative standards of the Adult
... more
Channel, Class Action toys with the stereotypical fantasy-schoolgirl image (almost as popular as naughty nurses and French maids in the "women in uniform" market) even while it carefully downplays any hint of under-age sex. All the, ahem, "actresses" are obviously well beyond their 18th birthdays, so the disclaimer that opens each episode to that effect is hardly necessary; while the risible "college" setting is so half-hearted that no viewer is in any danger of believing this has anything whatsoever to do with real schoolgirls. The dialogue is cringingly embarrassing but, as ever, the real aim is simply titillation, which is achieved here in typical Adult Channel fashion by having the girls moan and thrash about in various indoor and outdoor locations while having mock-sex with each other. The 18 rating ensures it's all pretty routine and unexceptional stuff--albeit tacky in the extreme--just so long as the show's dodgy setup has not turned you off right from the start. On the DVD: Class Action has trailers for more of the same and a "presenter profile" that's, funnily enough, just another way of plugging still more of the same. For anyone who cares, the aspect ratio is TV 4:3 and sound is basic stereo. --Joseph Andrews

DVD Description
A father and daughter, both attorneys, are on opposite sides in the courtroom. He's on the prosecuting side and she's for the defence. As father and daughter they become divided, and as attorneys, endangered by the truth. Gene Hackman plays Jedediah Tucker Ward an esteemed trial attorney who has built his reputation defending the underdog against the huge, impenetrable corporate power structure. His lawyer daughter Maggie, (Mastrantonio) has more conventional aims--namely becoming a partner in San Francisco's largest corporate law firm. Jedediah believes that his daughter is selling out by working as a corporate attorney, but Maggie sees her father's defence of the "common man" as an excuse for self-aggrandisement on the job and negligence at home. The festering antagonism between the two comes to a head when they meet in the courtroom for a class action suit against an American car manufacturer, where Maggie represents the car company and Jedediah represents the people.
Advantages: wesley snipes Disadvantages: could have been better
...I enjoy watching any film that Wesley Snipes is in, and this is no exception. I have seen this film about 6 or 7 times, about once a year as i still enjoy watching it. It is about a plane being hi-jacked by terrorists who of course want money for their troubles and of course the hero saves the day in the form of wesley snipes who is sitting in seat 57, hence the title passenger 57. This film would be enjoyable to watch for anyone that enjoys watching action movies as this is a high classaction movie. A must for your video/DVD collection....

Advantages: Great action Disadvantages: Some weak areas
...This film is decent, Tom Cruise is a decent actor for this type of role. It is full of action and also full of drama and romance (sort of) you may think of it as an action film, but the middle hour has none. Some people say the plot is crazy and you may not get it, but after watching it twice, i got the whole thing completely and can say it is a truly class plot and film. What is really surprising is how an american film can have so many british actors in it. Pretty good, so you can understand what they are saying. The action is first class and takes the matrix a step further. The soundtrack is blinding. If you havent seen the film go see it, if you have, go see it again!!!...

...I was expecting a classis action movie. Well i wasn't disappointed. The action scenes were some of the best i ever seen. Also the special effects were very useful. But this is just a bond wannabe film. It just doesn't have the class JB has. The plot and script is weak. THe acting in some areas is very weak and overall it ain't a good film
If ya like action and all thant go on watch it but if you looking for a classic don't bother! Well tom Cruise really hold the thing together but its no oscar winning performance. Maybe just maybe it'll come back for M:3. The soundtrack is quite good...
