It is commonly argued that Citizen Kane is the greatest film of all time,
It has become a part of American Folklore
It was the first film by Orson Welles. He was only 26 when he wrote, produced, directed and starred in the film

Plot: Charles Foster Kane, a Multimillionaire newspaper tycoon, dies alone in his Mansion, Xanadu. Before he dies he drops a Crystal ball and utters the Word 'Rosebud' In what is one of the most famous clips in Cinema History. The film then follows a reporter who attempts to solve the mystery behind the word 'Rosebud'. Despite never understanding the mystery the audience does find out at the very end.

Opinon: Every element of this film; Direction, Production, Screenplay, Cinematography, etc is faultless. Orson Welles has done a fantastic job in making a movie that will captivate the viewer to the end. The Actors play their role will flair and considerable ease. I loved this film for its amazingly original srcipt and a movie experience that has not been equalled in any other film since.

Errors: Despite these being of very little importance they are worth mentioning; when Kane says 'Rosebud' there is nobody else in the room and therefore impossible for anybody to know that those were his dying words (adding to mystery?)

Also Orson Welles takes virtually all of the credit for the writing of this film, this should not be the case as Mankiewicz was the main contributer

Awards: The film won an Oscar for Best Writing and original screeplay as well as many other awards and nominations

If you have not seen this film you have not experienced true cinema at its very best . A recent craze has been to class films in terms of top tens and films to watch before you die. This film could easily come out on top of both of these charts and is a definate must see. 10/10

I gave you a very helpful because of the amount of technical details on display. A bit more on the film itself wouldn't hurt though. Good job!

A decent review, but it seems to be more listed facts than anything else, to get a higher rating you need more of your personal opinion and more on the DVD itself without resorting to a long list...Lissy
