Cinderella; every girls dream? well it was certaintly one of mine when i was younger and even now i guess i still dream of being swept off my feet by a handsome prince (if you know one send him my way).
If you have never seen Cinderella and don't know the story (which i very much doubt) here's a brief explination of the tale.
Cinderella is a beautiful, young girl with a gentle spirit and happy nature. She lives with her father (a widower), her step-mother and two ugly step sisters. When her father dies her step-mother's true personality shines through revealing a wicked person out to break Cinderella's gentle spirit. Cinderella is treated like a slave and is immensly unhappy.
Meanwhile in the towns palace a prince is seeking a wife. It is announced that a grand ball will take place and every young girl is invited so as to find the prince a wife. Cinerella makes a beautiful dress but on the night of the ball her wicked step-mother and ugly step sisters lock her in her bedroom and leave for the ball without her.
Cinderella is then visited by her fairy god mother (my favorite part) who says 'Cinderella you shall go to the ball'. She turns a pumpkin and mice into a carridge with magnificent horses to pull it and dresses Cinderella is a beautiful gown with glass slippers. Cinderella looks radient and heads for the ball with the warning that the spell will be broken at midnight so she must leave before then.
Cinderella goes to the ball and all eyes on on her (she is unrecognisable to her step-family) especially those of the prince. They fall inlove that night but at midnight the spell is broken and Cinderella flees from the palace leaving behind one glass slipper.
The Prince sets out to find the beautiful stranger. He asks every girl in the land to try on the slipper but it fits noone until that is he reaches Cinderella. The slipper fits perfectly and he knows that this is the girl he loves. The two marry in a lavish, royal ceremony and as always have a happy ending.
Cinderella truly is a Disney classic and is a favorite for most children who see it. I strongly suggest you see this film if you haven't already as it where dreams and aspirations start and never seem to end. Truly Magical!
