Cinderella is one of the oldest of fairy tales and was a very ripe choice for one of Disney's animated feature length classics.
For those of you who don't know the story (and can there really be anyone out there who doesn't?), I'll just provide a quick recap...
Cinderella is the only daughter from the first marriage of her father, who later went on to marry another woman (wicked, what else?) and inherit two step daughters (wicked and ugly, what else?). Of course, they put upon dear poor Cinderella and treat her as a skivvy. The grand ball, with the Crown Prince (handsome of course) is fast approaching and they're all going, except for poor old Cinders who of course has nowt to where (tut tut). But lo, the fairy godmother has listened to her prayers and makes grand magic with vegetables and rodents and transforms our Cinders into a real life princess, but she must be back by midnight or the magic will fade....
Of course, she enchants the prince but has to flee at twelve, leaving behind one glass slipper, which the randy old sod uses to find his true love an dthey all live happily ever after. Altogether now, aaaahhhhh!!!
Disney couldn't miss out on this and true to form gave it the big budget production, complete with cutesy pie talking animals. Unfortunately, this is not one of the great man's classics and apart from those cheeky mice (with a right Laurel and Hardy pair) and a fiendish, villainous cat, this is a right dull yawn of 90 minutes. It's just got no fire and nothing of any real interest.
Best draw a veil over it.

Advantages: Great story, songs and characters; all of the elements from the best Disney classics. Disadvantages: The DVD edition is very disappointing, with poor picture quality and lack of interesting material.
