Due to my daughters extensive dvd collection i will attempt to write another review, this time on this rather marvellous dvd.
The children's favourites bumper special dvd is a compilation dvd of 10 different cartoons. Featured on this single disc edition are,
Barney - TREE-mendous trees, Learn about the importance of trees, their different shapes and sizes, and about the animals that live in them!! This is by no means my favourite as i'm really freaked out by the prospect of a 6 foot purple dinosaur!!! However my 2 year old son adores him, especially the i love you song played at the end (which is my favourite part ... the end!!!!)
Pingu - Pingu and the seagull, Pingu is plagued by a mischievous seagull, however, the seagull soon gets into a spot of bother and requires some aid.... I love pingu and have done for years, this cartoon is particulary amusing due to the fact the seagull goes out of his way to poo on Pingu's head!!!!
Animal stories - Eric the elephant, Being very shy at school, Eric stays quite and wonders if he will ever
feel brave and bold. His mother assures him that if he believes in himself, his boldness will come..... I was not familar with these cartoons until watching this dvd, but was pleasantly surprised. Although the animations are not amazing the way the story is told is beautiful, the whole story is done in rhyme, it makes the cartoon sooo, much more interesting!!!
Kipper - The fair, Join Kipper, Pig and Arnold as they enjoy themselves riding on the big wheel and looking in distorting mirrors at the fair!! We owned Kipper books and didn't realise they came in cartoon form, very enjoyable!
Percy the park keeper - The cross rabbit, Old rabbit is fed up with noisy young rabbits disturbing his sleep as they play in the snow. How will he get to sleep in all this noise? This is not one of my favourites or my daughters its a little slow moving, however the story books available of these storys more than make up for the cartoons!!
Bob the builder - Dizzy's crazy paving, Wendy is busy laying a garden path. Muck and Dizzy accidentaly break some paving slabs and are worried about how they can make things better. I love Bob and gang, all the cartoons are interesting and colourful and loved by both my kids,(so as you can imagine i'm definatley on first name terms with all the characters!!!)
Angelina Ballerina - Midnight muddle, Angelina and Alice settle down to spend the night in a tent. But Sammy tells them of the ghost of old Red whiskers, which in turn sets of a chain of numerous events!!! I could take or leave Angelina Ballerina but my daughter being the age she is (5), loves any thing to do with ballet, so insists on having all the dvds and merchandise.
Sheeep - The flat tyre, The wolves are resposible for creating a hole in the road, which then causes Gogol's car tyre to have a puncture. Will the wolves be caught by pc Butt. This a very amusing cartoon voiced over by ab fabs Julia Swahalia.
Oswald - Henry needs a haircut, Henry wakes up with a long feather sticking up from his head. He is scared of getting a hair cut so he goes to great lengths to cover it, but there is no avoiding the inevitable..... This an enjoyable cartoon, a little slow moving maybe, but nicely animated with a good story and colourful characters.
Brambly hedge - The world of brambly hedge, Take a trip around brambly hedge visiting the store stump where Mr Apple looks after the harvest, the mill where the flour is made, and many more places...... For anyone who is aquainted with the books, these cartoons are as beautifully animated and very detailed, well worth a look. This cartoon is effectively an introduction to the characters and the places.

This is a cleverly and carefully thought out dvd, from HIT entertainment, produced for children,(not like some which are set out for adults aimed at children). On the inside there is even a leaflet instucting the child viewer on how to play their favourite cartoon or to set up the continuos random play. On the back of this leaflet are instructions on how to handle the disc itself and how to keep it clean and scratch free!!!( which is extremely helpful as many of my once mint condition discs have fallen in the war against the sticky fingers!!!!)
Cost - This dvd and the others like it (there are at least three other childrens favourites dvds on sale at the moment), are very reasonably priced at £9.99, although the festive specials ie the christmas one did start off at £12.99.
