Children of men is a movie by Alfonso Cuarón It is based in 2027 where the uk is at war with itself and especially immigrants, Women are no longer fertile and the youngest person in the world who was 18 years old has just died, It follows a story about a man called theo (actor clive owen) who lives in london,Theo hears from his ex wife julian (actress Julianne Moore) who needs theos help to get certai papers to help an immigrant she has with her, Theo accepts as he needs the money in this dark time. Even though he obtains the papers he tells julian he must travel with the immigrant, Theo finds out that the immigrant he will be transporting is a young african girl called kee (actress Clare-Hope Ashitey) Theo is told he must transport her to sea to meet with a boat which looks after people who escape the war torn country. Kee trusts julian a lot and because julian trusts theo so does kee, julian is killed and theo takes on the role of protector to kee as julian would have wanted, because of julian kee decides to share her secret with theo and why she is so important, Kee is pregnant, Theo overhears that the men who are helping kee lead by luke ( actor Chiwetel Ejiofor) were the ones responsible for killing julian and are planning to use kee for their own personal political purposes, Theo decided to grab kee and run with midwife in tow, Theo seeks help with long time friend jasper (actor michael caine) who gets him to an immigration camp so they can get to a boat, The whole film is very dark and war torn, The drama was amazing and i really enjoyed the whole film, Effects were good, great variety of amazing actors and a good story line that had never been done before. All in all a fantastic film but not suitable for children under the age of 15.
