This is another film made by the makers of 'Wallace and Gromit'.Chicken run is an animated film with all of the characters made from plastecine. The story line is said to be very like 'The Great escape'.
It is set on a chicken farm in England the characters of the prison are all chickens who are trying to escape from the evil farmer Mrs Tweedy and her husband.
Ginger is the leader of the chickens and escape co-ordinater and she beleives that there is a place outside the farm where chickens can be free and they wont get killed if they dont lay enough eggs.
One day after trying a million different ideas to try and escape,a young stud of a rooster called'Rocky'(Mel Gibsons voice) flies into the camp from the outside, hurting his wing so Ginger and the other chickens hide him away while his wing heals.
Seeing Rocky apparently fly gives Ginger the idea of teaching all the chickens to fly with Rockys help to help them escape the farm. Time is not on there side though as Mrs Tweedy the farmer has decided to go into business producing chicken pies and has installed a huge chicken pie making machine.
The most funniest bits of this film has to be all the different ways that Rocky and Ginger try to teach the chickens to fly it really had me stitches.
I think this film is aimed at both children and adults, the charaters are really well made and the story line is easy to follow.
I would recommend this film to anyone who has kids or just wants to see a totally different type of movie.
Some facts about the film: 1.There were a total of 563 puppets made. 2.3500kg of plastacine was used to make the film. 3.Each charater went through loads of replacement body parts. 4.The chicken run models are made from a special blend of plastacine called'Aardman Mix'which is alot more durable than normall plastacine.
Hope you enjoyed reading as much as i enjoyed watching.
Love Rachael xxxxxx
