As you might have gathered from my reviews list I am a great fan of the musical and having seen this on the stage I had to see it on DVD to see how well they had transfered it from stage to film. With a great cast list of Catherine Zita Jones ,Richard Geear and Rene Zelwiger The story is set in the swinging 20s and is about a girl who wants to become a cabaret star. After killing her lover she ends up in jail with other murders all who have been arrested for similar crimes. Her husband gets her a hot shot lawyer and the story follows her trial. The songs are great there are a few classics in her and the performances by every one in the film are great. I had my doubts about Catherine Zeta Jones in the role but she was fab as where all the rest of the cast. This is a film for older children and adults but one of those films that you just have to have in the collection.

I see you've posted this as a DVD review, but you've not mentioned the DVD features. Are there any extras? If so, what are they and are they any good? If you add to this, or if you change it to be posted as a "Film Only" review, which can be done by accessing "edit review" above the review and changing the drop down menu under the "Which format are you reviewing?" question at the bottom, please let me know and I'll re-rate.
