Walking into the cinema, I expected some fun musical numbers and an extra storyline. Well, I came out not quite satisfied. The songs and dances were great, but in my opinion, I do not think that this film deserved "Best Film" at the Oscars. Its storyline is excellent but not quite developed in the movie. Instead, its just like a pop video, which is trying to cram as much music in but not enough of a plot to keep you awake. The acting was superb, and I believe that Richard Gere deserved a nom for best actor, but the star of the show was Renee Zellwegger who manages to pull off her act excellently. Overall, I'd give it an 8/10, because it has everything to make it a masterpiece, but it isn't one itself. Watch it if they don't have "Phone Booth" showing.

This is a fair op, but if you add a bit more info on the film, and add your opinion on it you'd get a higher rating! If you need a hand leave a message in my GB! Take Care, Matt x x

I totally agree with you. A friend just brought this back for me from the states on DVD and I thought it was quite rubbish. I would only give it a 6. I do not understand at all why CZJ got an Oscar. I much prefer Moulin Rouge.
