outlets for his creative urges. Engaged in publishing in his post-Who semi-retirement, the windmilling guitarist has returned to the stage infrequently, which may partially explain the energy he brings to this performance, a benefit for a treatment center for abused children. The two-disc collection features Townshend backed by a quintet on one disc and stretching out with Eddie Vedder and keyboardist Jon Carvin on remakes of "Magic Bus" and "Heart to Hang Onto" on the second disc. Townshend scatters a couple of unexpected covers (Canned Heat's droning "On the Road Again" and Dylan's "Girl From the North Country") and a few more obscure originals ("Now and Then," "Drowned") among the staples ("Anyway Anyhow Anywhere," "Let My Love Open the Door," "Won't Get Fooled Again"). The original art punk now approaches his material with a certain mature reserve, but he's consistently engaged and in fine voice. Here's one '60s hero who isn't treading the same worn path because he has no interest in arriving at the same old destination. --Steven Stolder

Advantages: none Disadvantages: loads of scenes and music scores have been cut out
this is the only fools and horses complete collection boxset but in my eyes it isnt because loads of scenes have been cut and musical scores changed or cut out and laughter tracks added onto episodes that didnt originally have a laughter track. so its not really the complete collection is it with all these things changed and added the episode a royal flush is the one that been edited the most loads of scenes have been cut and a laughter track added wich spoils the episode completely. i would strongly recommend anyone that want to see all the episodes in all their glory is to tape them off uk gold its better than this so called complete collection that the bbc have released im still waiting for the genuine complete collection. ...
Advantages: Too many to mention Just ENJOY Disadvantages: Hours spent watching 10
I was one of those lucky few who was there on the day. The day that music changed the world something that has continued ever since but has never been achieved up to this standard. I have been to many many live gigs but this one comes right at the top, I can still remember the shivers down my spine as I felt the excitement from crowds and performers alike so, when the concert was released on DVD I decided to purchase it. All proceeds from this dvd goes to the Band Aid trust to continue their help in feeding the world.
The 4 disc DVD is beautifully presented in a fold out cover which slips into a protective box., It contains an informative booklet giving information and glossy colour photographs from that day.. I was also interested to see that it contained some unseen footage and a documentary which was shown on the BBC a year after ...
Advantages: Dramatic, funny and often moving Disadvantages: Don't watch if you're offended by nudity and swearing
no big surprise. I didn't catch the first two seasons when they were shown on British television, but having watched this first season box-set, it's easy to see why the programme got the reaction it did.
The pivotal character throughout the series' extraordinarily long run is Andy Sipowicz, an alcoholic whose addiction to the bottle, along with his prejudices and unorthodox interviewing techniques, threatens to bring his police career to a premature end. Sipowicz is played by Dennis Franz, who had previously worked with Bochco on Hill Street Blues, as had his co-star in this series, David Caruso, who plays Sipowicz's younger partner John Kelly.
Caruso is, of course, better known these days as slick-speaking, designer sunglasses-clad Horatio Caine from CSI Miami, but in NYPD Blue, he plays a much warmer and sympathetic character ...
