Even though I support Newcastle United, I have to admit I am a big admirer of Chelsea and it was great to see them finally win only their second ever league title after such a long wait. On the 30th of April 2005 it was finally their moment once again. 04/05 was a record breaking season, apart from the loss against Manchester City and the bad refereeing in the Champions League against Liverpool (it was NOT a goal!!) it was a season most teams can only dream of. Chelsea scored a record number of points, they conceded the fewest goals and kept the most clean sheets in the history of the Premiership.
This is the best football DVD I have come across, whereas most review DVDs are approximatilly 90-100 minutes this one is a massive 245 minutes long! A nice feature is that before the highlights of every game, the team and formation is shown which I haven't seen before on similar DVDs.
Featuring highlights of every game in Chelsea's 04/05 double trophy winning season (including pre-season) from the opener at home against Manchester United to the final game away at Newcastle United, they're all here. Every goal scored for and against from Gudjohnsen's winner in the first game to Lampard's penalty in May is featured .Other things include press conferences, post match interviews, access to the training ground etc, this is a must for all Chelsea fans!
All premiership games are on disc 1 and cup games are on disc 2. I like this but also find it a bit confusing when during commentary the "previous" game is mentioned but it is actually on the other disc!
You can see from this DVD how good the morale is at Chelsea from the joking at the pre-season tour of America, to training ground games such as the cross bar challenge (in which Terry became the last player to hit the cross bar at Harlington before they moved to a new training gorund), to the celebrations after the Bolton game! Other instances are when the team allow Kezman to take the penalty in the against Newcastle for him to go on and score his first premiership goal after many frustrating games, and again when Makelele takes the penalty against Charlton to score his first Chelsea goal. This team is not only a group of extremely talented individuals but they understand and respect each other both on and off the pitch and want everyone to share the glory.
At the end of the DVD there is a nice touch where every player is named, and it is emphasised how much it was a team effort. Too often in football individuals are praised but this DVD really highlights that Chelsea are a tightly knit bunch of players and it is more about the team than two or three players.
During the credits of disc 1 there is out takes of interviews mostly taken from the training ground, so funny! Just shows that some things did go wrong!
Disc 2 as I mentioned before is home to all the cup highlights. Not only that but it features an exclusive interview with Mourinho, another with Terry & Lampard, the Champions Parade and extended celebrations from Bolton where the premiership crown was won.
I wish all football season review DVDs were this good. Top quality. And since I picked it for £7.99 in HMV's sale, bargain of the year! :)

Thanks again for all your comments! Congrats to Chelsea for winning the Premiership again!

Great review (well, as a Chelsea fan I would say that wouldn't I?). I also have this set. And, having lived on Tyneside, I've a soft spot for Newcastle too. Cheers, Duncan
