Even though I support Newcastle United, I have to admit I am a big admirer of Chelsea and it was great to see them finally win only their second ever league title after such a long wait. On the 30th of April 2005 it was finally their moment once again. 04/05 was a record breaking season, apart from the loss against Manchester City and the bad refereeing in the Champions League against Liverpool (it was NOT a goal!!) it was a season most teams can only dream of. Chelsea scored a record number of points, they conceded the fewest goals and kept the most clean sheets in the history of the Premiership.
This is the best football DVD I have come across, whereas most review DVDs are approximatilly 90-100 minutes this one is a massive 245 minutes long! A nice feature is that before the highlights of every game, the team and formation is shown which I haven't seen before on similar DVDs.
Featuring highlights of every game in Chelsea's 04/05 double trophy winning season (including pre-season) from the opener at home against Manchester United to the final game away at Newcastle United, they're all here. Every goal scored for and against from Gudjohnsen's winner in the first game to Lampard's penalty in May is featured .Other things include press conferences, post match interviews, access to the training ground etc, this is a must for all Chelsea fans!
All premiership games are on disc 1 and cup games are on disc 2. I like this but also find it a bit confusing when during commentary the "previous" game is mentioned but it is actually on the other disc!
You can see from this DVD how good the morale is at Chelsea from the joking at the pre-season tour of America, to training ground games such as the cross bar challenge (in which Terry became the last player to hit the cross bar at Harlington before they moved to a new training gorund), to the celebrations after the Bolton game! Other instances are when the team allow Kezman to take the penalty in the against Newcastle for him to go on and score his first premiership goal after many frustrating games, and again when Makelele takes the penalty against Charlton to score his first Chelsea goal. This team is not only a group of extremely talented individuals but they understand and respect each other both on and off the pitch and want everyone to share the glory.
At the end of the DVD there is a nice touch where every player is named, and it is emphasised how much it was a team effort. Too often in football individuals are praised but this DVD really highlights that Chelsea are a tightly knit bunch of players and it is more about the team than two or three players.
During the credits of disc 1 there is out takes of interviews mostly taken from the training ground, so funny! Just shows that some things did go wrong!
Disc 2 as I mentioned before is home to all the cup highlights. Not only that but it features an exclusive interview with Mourinho, another with Terry & Lampard, the Champions Parade and extended celebrations from Bolton where the premiership crown was won.
I wish all football season review DVDs were this good. Top quality. And since I picked it for £7.99 in HMV's sale, bargain of the year! :)
Advantages: Every goal scored in the Chelsea Season Disadvantages: NONE
...tell that I am a Chelsea Fan by reading my username and I am also a real fan of this DVD. It lasts for 245 mins, which is much longer than most season highlight DVDS. This emphasises the fact that a lot of detail is out into this DVD to make it very interesting.
It shows every single goal scored, goal against in the entire Chelsea 2004/2005 season including the cup competitions too. It includes interviews with player, the manager etc. It provides ... ...is a must for a Chelsea Fan and even more so because of the cheap price.
This is DVD is made so mcuh more interesting by videos of the players at the training ground in pre-season training and everyone is having a fun time. In addition to this, at the end of one of the discs there are some out takes which add to the humour of the DVD.
the 2 dvds are well split, with the first one showing the premiership review, and the second, showing the cup competitions ...

Advantages: An all-inclusive look at Chelsea's Premiership-winning season Disadvantages: Nothing new if you visit their website regularly, but nice to have it all in one place
..."Have you ever seen Chelsea win the League?" It became the most important question of Chelsea's season. The team honestly wasn't expected (or indeed, expecting) to do very well: a new manager, multiple new signings, a young inexperienced captain who was not the manager's first choice . . . and yet, they did the impossible. 50 years after their first League championship, John Terry lifted the Premiership Trophey and Stamford Bridge went absolutely ... ...if you subscribe to Chelsea TV, you've seen most of this already. If you visit the Chelsea website regularly, you know most of the information already. If you've read John Terry's book . . . you get the idea. It's not like the information isn't out there; however, this is the first time that it is all together in one place. And that in and of itself is reason to buy this DVD. ...

Advantages: A must for any Chelsea fan Disadvantages: Perhaps on some matches the highlights are a little too short
This Chelsea DVD is a review of the first title winning season (04/05). The DVD features all league matches, fa cup, league cup and champions league highlights, as well as pre-season games. Some matches have more coverage on them, for example big games such as Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool have extensive highlights, whereas against 'lesser' opposition, the highlights package only contains the goals. The DVD is similarly layed out to Chelsea TV programmes, ... ...and subtitles. Matches on the DVD are broken down month by month, and there is an introduction at the start of the DVD to the new summer recruits, followed by pre-season action and interviews. Following each month, and sometimes during, there are interviews from the manager and key players.
There are in-depth behind the scenes features of the title celebrations and the Carling Cup win too as a bonus on the second disc. ...
