The movie is the first in the collection by Cheech and Chong. It is about two stoners who are in search of dope, who end up being deported because immigration thinks that they are in the States illegally. Whilst in Mexico they pick up a job, which is a car made entirely out of Marijuana, and they are to bring it into the States. The duo unknowingly smuggle the marijuana van into the States. But things are never straight forward with Man and Pedro. They decided to go to a club where they can play there music as they are in a band. Watch how they entertain the crowd and the crowd gets high.
The two characters are Man (Tommy Chong) and Pedro (Cheech Marin). There are other characters but they are just used to make the movie funnier as Man and Pedro make a joke of them, for example, the police officer that is trying to catch them radios in to the police station with the code name hard hat, and the two begin to wind him up over the radio pretending they thought he said lard ass.
It is funny and will have you laughing from beginning to end (if you are easily entertained or a stoner yourself). It is about two stoners so you can't expect too much, however they do provide entertainment through their stupidity and the fact that they are high. It is simple humour and there is nothing complicated about the movie. Just about two stoners getting high and doing what they have to in order to get through the day.
You can look forward to quotes such as: Border Guard: So, how long you've been in Mexico? Pedro: A week. I mean a day. Border Guard: Well, which is it? A week or a day? Pedro: A weekday.
Pedro: Hey how am I driving, man? Man: [looks around] : I think we're parked.
Through the state of the two characters being stoned through most of the movie, they provide us with a good laugh. It probably is easier to understand the jokes if you are high yourself, but either way, the movie is enjoyable for anyone that is not easily offended. The movie will definitely appeal to anyone who has smoked a joint before, but even if you haven’t, you can still enjoy the humour of Cheech and Chong.
A lot of the music used in the movie is done by Cheech and Chong themselves, as before they made their movie debut in this movie, they sold millions of records.
The movie is so funny that it has you laughing from beginning to end, but it has you laughing out loud and by the end of the movie, you will be in pain from laughing too much. Quite an achievement for two stoners and their stoner antics.

Great review! Ohhh man, some of them quotes had me cracking up. The other cheech and chong films go downhill, but this is truely a classic comedy. You have really done this film justice with your review, keep up the good work. ;)
