The Power of 3 will set us free!!!!!
The first of 8 explosive seasons of charmed.
The Beginning:
The story is based on 3 sisters, Prue Halliwell (Shannen Doherty), Piper Halliwell (Holly Marie Coobs) and Pheobe Halliwell (Alyssa Milano). Who are normal (as far as they're aware) 20 something sisters bickering with each other living with Grams in the manor.
Prue Halliwell is the oldest of the 3 sisters and works at Buckalnds which deal with auctions of antiques.
Piper Halliwell is the middle sister and quite a keen cook. She works at quake.
Pheobe Halliwell is the youngest of the sisters and a bit of a trouble maker. She has been in trouble a few times with the police and did at one point move out, but she is now back to live with her sisters much to Prues dismay.
Grams is the sisters legal guardian after there mother tragically died while they were children and sadly was witnessed by Prue. There mother Patty died never telling her children that they were infact witches...powerful witches too...they were the charmed ones.
Because of the constant bickering with the sisters it puts a lot of strain on Grams who knows about the legacy of the charmed ones and knows that at some point the girls will gain their powers, so after deciding that it probably wans't a great idea for the girls to become charmed just yet, she creates a potion to bind there powers.
unfortunately on her way to the attic to cast the spell with the help of the potion and the book of shadows (a powerful spell book) she has a heart attack and dies.
The 3 girls start to wonder what Grams was doing upstairs going to the attic, which has always been locked ever since there mother died, so they go and investigate and find the book of shadows and a ouji board. They all retreat downstairs and start to play with the ouji board until it has a mind of it's own. Pheobe reads an inscription written by there mother on the back
'the power of 3 will set us free'
and it causes them all to become charmed.
Prue Halliwell has the power to move things with her mind. Piper halliwell has the power to freeze things and pheobe gets visions.
At first the girls have no clue as to what had just happened but slowly throughout the first episode they learn that something isn't quite right.
The whole first season is about the girls learning to control their powers whilst having to live a normal life and helping to save innocents.

This is a great series. The acting from each of the actors is fantastic. The producers and directors have done a great job.
Unfortunately there are no special features on this DVD boxset, which is a bit of a dissapointment, as it is quite pricey for what it is, especially if you compare it to other shows like it.
I would probably only reccomend the DVD to people who are fans of charmed.
When i brought this it cost me £60.00 and i've only watched it once. I am currently thinking about putting it on ebay.
