But should it be in the martial arts category? I think not (try action). Although it does have some great fight sequences.
This film was inspired by the original 1970's t.v show, and was re-made in a spectacular fashion, with cutting edge technology and special effects. Ok so the basic plot line is predictable in parts, and same-old same-old in places, but this is more than made up for by the awesome special effects, fantastic soundtrack, wicked action, and of course those gorgeous Angels!(ESPECIALLY CAMERON DIAZ-OUCH!).
Basically the angels are an elite crime fighting threesome, backed by an anonymous millionaire (Charlie). In this film they must discover the identity of the villain, who has stolen voice recognition technology. They must stop him before he can use it in combination with a network of satelites to track down the location of anybody on the planet! This would allow the mysterious Charlie to be finally located. It doesnt help that the villain in question has a grudge against Charlie because he mistakenly belives that Charlie betraayed and killed his father in the war.
During the film, the angels must break into a high-security vault (mission:Impossble?!) where the three lovely ladies must dress up as men to sneak in!!!Very funny!
There are also some unbeleivable 'wire' kung fu fights, and lots of explosions.
I personally enjoyed this film on the second viewing as I could absorb more of what was going on.
Overall, I would highly recommend you watch it.

Advantages: Anything that has Cameron Diaz in it, wet and 'unzipped' to the waist has got to get 5 stars Disadvantages: not sure Lucy Liu was the right casting for the 3rd 'Angel'

Review of Charlie's Angels (DVD)
Advantages: Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz... Disadvantages: The most stupid film ever, even worse than The Avengers, possibly as bad as Batman and Robin
