This much hyped film stars Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore as the infamous Charlie's Angels.
The opening scene is amazing and we get a sense of what to expect from the rest of the film. The emphasis is on definately more on style and action and not on the storyline.
The girls work for Charlie's detective agency and the films story is about their attempts to find a kidnap victim. John Forsythe plays the never seen before Charlie, who we only get to see at the end.
The action in the film is great and the fight scene brilliantly done with Matrix inspired style fighting. The 'baddies' include the scary looking man who fights against the angels.
The plot isn't the reason for watching the film. There are tiny little twists in the plot, but it is simple enough for a 8 year old to understand.
Formula 1 cars, boats and helicopters make scatter the film, giving the film a more action packed look. The Nokia 8210 is advertised a bit clumsily and doesn't gel with the rest of the film. The girl flash their phones more than once. Was it worth putting that in?
Cameron Diaz plays the dumb blonde. She looks the best and has the most complex action scenes. She also gets to play chicken in a grand prix car and has a romance with a guy. Lucy Liu's role isn't that big compared to the other two. However she looks great and is quite convincing as the hard nut out of the three. Drew Barrymore comes across as the 'dumpy' one. She seems like the only one who was brave enough to take the role alongside Liu and Diaz. She doesn't seem at ease with the action, however she is likeable in her role.
Blokes will love this film due to clothes that the girls wear. They do look fantastic, however the excessive hairflicking does get irritating after a while.
The soundtrack is excellent notably with Destiny's Childs 'Independent Woman' being the most wellknown.
A great movie where you can leave your brain at home and sit and have a great time. It is not supposed to be a masterpiece. This film is pure entertainment, whether you like it or not you will not be bored!
I love this movie, although in your op you said about Barrymore being the dumpy one, but I think she was fantastic and she was very big behind the camera's as well. Nice op though.
inal 1970s jiggle show. Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore (who also produced) and Lucy Liu star as the hair-tossing, fashion-setting, kung-fu fighting trio employed by the my...
