As I sat down to watch this film, based on a 1970s TV series, I could easily have thought I was watching a typical James Bond prologue. It starts serenely in a jetliner with a passenger complaining about the in-flight film choice. This is promptly followed by two parachute jumps, the disarming of a bomb and agents whizzing to shore in a speedboat!
Charlie (a mysterious voice on a speakerphone done by John Forsythe) is the head of a detective agency that uses three beautiful women, or Angels played by Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu, to investigate unscrupulous people and cases. A proper plot and believability are substituted for fast-action, physical exuberance and total mayhem! The three angels are dressed in black, skin-tight ninja costumes. Diaz sports a fair degree of visible frontage and Liu achieves a marathon-mileage of sexy hair tosses! Many male viewers may find themselves wondering where they can land a job like Charlie's where the three beautiful women rush around in order to please him and ask only that they should have the privilege of meeting him in person one day!
The Angels windmill their way through 90 minutes' worth of assorted bad guys and doofus boyfriends in an attempt to save the day which culminates in an attempt to save the elusive Charlie from being assassinated. Along the way they perform countless splits, high kicks and martial-arts pirouettes.
Special features of the DVD include deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes footage, music videos, outtakes and interviews.

Advantages: Anything that has Cameron Diaz in it, wet and 'unzipped' to the waist has got to get 5 stars Disadvantages: not sure Lucy Liu was the right casting for the 3rd 'Angel'

Review of Charlie's Angels (DVD)
Advantages: Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz... Disadvantages: The most stupid film ever, even worse than The Avengers, possibly as bad as Batman and Robin
