I was pleasantly suprised to find this film was not as bad as I had expected it to be. When my flatmate returned from the video shop clutching this I must admit I thought 'this is going to be terrible but I can probably handle watching these three for an hour and a half'. However the film had a good sense of humour and constantly parodied itself. It was also action packed and featured lots of special effects.
I enjoyed the tongue-in-cheek style, fast pace and glitzy look of the film as pure entertainment. Both Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz, apart from being beautiful, are extremely competent comedy actresses and, refreshingly for sex symbols, don't mind making themselves look silly. Bill Murray, as the bumbling contact for Charlie, was excellent as always and rates as one of my favourite all time comedy actors.
The plot was predictably ridiculous, the script was funny in places and poor in others and the special effects were sometimes over the top. However if you are just looking for a laugh then you could do much worse than this film. I enjoyed it and was pleasantly suprised at the cheesy style and comedy. After watching it I realised what really made it mindless entertainment, sitting there at the end of the film I could already feel myself begin to forget it.

Advantages: Anything that has Cameron Diaz in it, wet and 'unzipped' to the waist has got to get 5 stars Disadvantages: not sure Lucy Liu was the right casting for the 3rd 'Angel'

Review of Charlie's Angels (DVD)
Advantages: Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz... Disadvantages: The most stupid film ever, even worse than The Avengers, possibly as bad as Batman and Robin
