There’s no way around it: Charlie’s Angels is fun! It’s silly, cheesy and entirely foolish and it’s the most entertaining movie I’ve seen all year
The Charlie’s Angels for the new millennium are Natalie (the ever-vibrant Cameron Diaz), Dylan (the suddenly buxom Drew Barrymore) and Alex (the intense Lucy Liu). These girls use their looks and their fighting skills to solve crimes.
In the movie, rich mogul (Tim Curry) has kidnapped a computer genius (Sam Rockwell) in order to steal his brilliant new invention. The angels are called in to try and stop the madman from carrying out his plan.
Not much of a plot, but it’s all the plot that this film needs, it’s so entertaining!
As in the original TV series, the trio receive their orders by the unseen Charlie and his right-hand man Bosley (Bill Murray) an inept spy but all around nice guy.
Diaz in my opinion is the sexiest, especially when she gets funky and breaks out her crazy dance moves. (One of the movie's best scenes features Diaz going "old-school" on Soul Train.) If any modern actress truly lights up the screen, it's Cameron Diaz and her fabulous smile.
No less lovely is Drew Barrymore, who seems to have recently discovered the power of her cleavage. As the movie's producer, Drew of course got to have the one true romantic scene in the movie, but she's as earthy and sweet as she always is, even when she's beating the snot out of people.
As the third Angel, Lucy Liu gets to cut loose and play a bit. Her role in Ally McBeal doesn’t give her much of an opportunity to smile, so it's great to see her getting some laughs in this film. A scene of Alex dominating a classroom of computer engineers is priceless.
The action scenes in this movie remind me of ‘The Matrix’ and Mission: Impossible and are truly amazing as are the rest of the special effects!
I was never bored during this movie, it kept me interested the entire time, I was truly left speechless when I came out of the Cinema, it’s a very very very very very good film, if you fancy a good night in why not rent this film? You won’t regret it!

Sounds like fun - I don't think the film was ever supposed to be taken really seriously. Cheers, Phil.

Ok, so I have to leave a comment. Haven'T seen the movie, but your op gives me an idea. Many film reviews at ciao limit themselves to describing the plot only, but you have gone further (as there isn't much of a plot apparently) to describe the perfomance of the actors. Well done.

Advantages: Anything that has Cameron Diaz in it, wet and 'unzipped' to the waist has got to get 5 stars Disadvantages: not sure Lucy Liu was the right casting for the 3rd 'Angel'

Review of Charlie's Angels (DVD)
Advantages: Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz... Disadvantages: The most stupid film ever, even worse than The Avengers, possibly as bad as Batman and Robin
