Admittedly I was a little sceptical about this film, I never really go for films that are hyped to death. But as my friend had brought Charlie’s Angels on DVD round, I thought I might as well watch it. Now I’m from the generation that doesn’t actually remember the original, but I had heard lots about it. I knew it was a film about 3 kick-ass girls kicking ass.
Anyway I watched the DVD on sat night and even as a sceptic I thought it was fantastic. OK so the plots a little lame, but the film isn’t intended to be taken seriously. But the stunts and the costumes are fantastic. It’s a seriously funny film.
It has all the right ingredients for a cheesy film, the OTT millionaire, the Girls in skimpy clothes, cool toys, and a Baddy intent on revenge. The makes have done a good job of getting the film to have a laugh at its self without going too much down the spoof track (i.e. Naked Gun etc.)
There’s no point in me giving a rundown of the plot as I must have been the last person to see it. But I may as well tell you about the extras on the DVD (which btw is an import from America so I’m not sure if the same features will be on when it reached these shores).

Not bad eh? More than you usually get on a DVD and it was only £16 from Play247.com. But beware this DVD has region enhanced coding and only DVD’s that have recently been chipped will play it over here. We even had trouble with the disk and our DVD player was only chipped last month, you have been warned.
All in all this is a really great package, a seriously cool film and a DVD packed full of features, for a bargain price.

Advantages: Cameron Diaz and...that's about it Disadvantages: Poor acting, poor script, poor plot, rubbish villain, totally unbelievable, a shameless rip-off - mocks the memory of the much, much better MI and Matrix
Advantages: Anything that has Cameron Diaz in it, wet and 'unzipped' to the waist has got to get 5 stars Disadvantages: not sure Lucy Liu was the right casting for the 3rd 'Angel'

Review of Charlie's Angels (DVD)
Advantages: Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz... Disadvantages: The most stupid film ever, even worse than The Avengers, possibly as bad as Batman and Robin
