Well, I have to admitt that I went into the cinema with less than high hopes of finding a good film. I also have to admitt that althought the film was enjoyable - funny with good action - I must say that, for the sake of my friends who know me as a bit of a film buff, that this film represents - as does Godzilla and other hollywood affairs how far ENTERTAINMENT has come in film. By this I mean that the quota of style over content is now so high that we can almost dispence with a plot (a la' MI2) and aim simply for Entertaining images on screen, wheather this is a nice shot of Diaz cleavage (for the boy's - and some girls of course) or the slow motion "i wish I could do that" jump and kick scenes that have become a stable of action films and martial arts films since Mr Woo became known in the US. I must point out that this film is, as films go very poor but as far as the pop video culture of the young ones today is concerned it is a good laugh, at least you get your value for money on an action quota. Plus Bill Murray is a insane as normal so thats good. Lets see what we get next in the girl power hi octain department - Style over content: Tomb Raider anyone?
