I didn't really want to go out - let alone to the cinema and certainly not with my nearly mother-in-law, but on a cold rainy Saturday night, I braved the drunken mobs and went to see Charlie's Angels.
The opening was faux James Bond - without the imagination and financial backing but with all the ludicrousness. As one other contributor stated the hair flicking was deeply annoying but mercifully stopped quite quickly.
The middle of the story was OK, the end was predictable but good.
As a whole, the film is very good looking to watch. The funniest moments are Cameron Diaz in Y-fronty things sticking her bum about (dancing) and Chad, who had a pathetically sweet catchphrase ("it's the Chad").
Strongest identity crisis period was when Lucy Lui did her Miss Whiplash thang in tight creaking leather, a very strong cane and a room full of IT geeks. (Guess which industry I work in?).
The storyline is weaker that ummmm... a very weak story line indeed and is very far fetched but then again so was Mission Impossible 1. It was all so pretty and easy to watch, that I came out MUCH happier than when I went in.
If you want something deep then go to a slovakian film festival - don't see this.
