Oooh, where to start... firstly I think I'll have to say that if you like cheesey god awful movies with gratuitous shots of crotches and boobs, with absolutely no taste and with very poorly thought out stunts then this isn't so bad... as for any real action movie fans, well avoid this at all costs... even Lucy Lui in a very sexy dress at the end didn't make this worth seeing! I have a friend at the cinema, so I don't normally pay for tickets (it's company policy that she's allowed to let me in free before anyone gets upset!) and having not paid for this I walked out feeling robbed of two hours of my life!
First off, I felt that the "action" was a little bit bland, I mean some of the stunts were impressive, but they didn't lend a huge amount to the film, they certainly strayed from anything vaguely realistic, now I'm normally not a stickler for realism, but defying the laws of physics is something I find annoying in a film.
I felt that the characters themselves lacked any real depth, and appeared arrogant and lucky rather than a well trained crime fighting unit (or whatever they're supposed to be)
The main saving grace for me in the film was demi moore, who did pull off the evil bitch character fairly well, and she shot the three annoying wenches!! I was literally standing on my seat cheering at this, as up to this point in the movie I had almost been lulled into a coma!
It might sound as though I'm being extremely harsh on this light hearted chick flick, however the only saving grace was Bosley. Who added a touch of comedy value to a rather shoddy movie... the bond-esque cheesey lines the "angels" quipped occaisionally, were rather lame and groan inducing.
Suffice to say I'd not really recommend this film to a friend, or even an annoying in-law... I felt this movie was possibly the worst thing since jeepers creepers, vague annoying women prancing about like wannabe super heroes and boring the audience to tears, I almost wonder if the directors are forced to endure the things they create from start to finish at times... I think in this case it'd be worth inflicting it on said director in the vain hope they'll realise that it was a sad over marketed annoying utterly pointless film.
I did enjoy the irony of drew barrymore finding a guy she had something in common with then watching him get a sword through the chest... again though, watching the angels suffer made this slightly more amusing than it should have been... empathy? ha!
