with the exception of a few new offerings from Destiny's Child, Aerosmith and Fatboy Slim, is a nostalgic mix tape of 1970s and 1980s hits. The older songs are fun and ripe for a party: Tavares' "Heaven Must be Missing an Angel", Marvin Gaye's "Got to Give It Up" and Deee-lite's "Groove is in the Heart" are certain to please a crowd. The new tracks, with one notable exception, are weak and contrived. Destiny's Child offer "Independent Women (Part 1)", an empty declaration of female self-reliance (aren't we over this already?). Aerosmith's "Angel's Eye" is, in a word, terrible. The exception is Caviar's "Tangerine Speedo", a trip-hoppy lounge groove that packs a sassy punch. All in all, Charlie's Angels is a solid purchase, but in spite of, not because of, the new material. --Courtney Kemp

The scenario doesn't change much compared to the original series, not only that but, thanks to the apport of Hollywood stars like Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu, Drew Barrymore, Bill Murray and John Forsythe (as Charlie), the movie has become one of the best action movies made in 2000. Three women detectives, chosen for their looks, characters, toughness, are members of one of the best detective agencies, known as "Charlie's Angels". They solve the toughest cases, using all their talents and capacities to help their clients. Charlie's private investigation company is contacted by Eric Knox, a programmer, owner of Knox Technologies. He has created a unique and revolutionary voice-recognition software. Unfortunately the program is stolen and the Angels are sent to place a bug in the system of bitter rival Roger Corwin, who is under strong ...
Advantages: Funny, entertaining, great characters Disadvantages: A bit too cheesy for some
add to the humour and are extremely outlandish, at one point Cameron Diaz runs in the air for about three seconds before kicking Creepy Thin Man. You could criticise Charlie?s Angels for stealing The Matrix?s idea however I think the film pays homage to The Matrix and doesn?t try to imitate it at all, the two films are in completely different genres.
The humour is thick and fast and although a couple of jokes fall flat the majority of it is very funny, down to the most simple things. Overall this entire film is veering on faultless, there are no major flaws in it, it?s very funny, entertaining and the action is fantastic. This is girl power at it?s best and I?d recommend it to anyone.

I?ve always been a huge fan of movies where Women kick ass! And this movie had it all, action, comedy, romance and really knew how to get ya going! I?ve seen the 70's TV show and it was ok for that era but this is total makeover and I loved it!
The movie is all about a guy who gets kidnapped and has his special software stolen and the angels need to uncover the mystery, which equals loads of excellent fight scenes and loads of action. The fights were choreographed really well and the matrix style fighting was great, but really pulled the movie away from reality even more, I felt the fight scenes where their flying weren?t really needed as they actually fitted in, in the movie the matrix but looked a bit odd her, but still some excellent fight scenes, I especially liked the fight scene where the girls are chasing strange thin man from ...

DVD Description
Based on the babe-a-licious show from the 1970s, CHARLIE'S ANGELS is a defiantly goofy action movie featuring plenty of comedy and a strong sense of girl power. Three talented young women work for the mysterious Charles Townsend: Natalie (Cameron Diaz), the bubbly blond science expert; Dylan (Drew Barrymore), the rebellious tomboy; and Alex (Lucy Liu), the tough Angel who has trouble telling her boyfriend that she's a highly skilled secret agent. The Angels are assigned to locate Eric Knox (Sam Rockwell), a kidnapped computer expert whose new software could threaten global security if it were to fall into the wrong hands. The women go undercover to investigate this devious tycoon and are faced with double crosses, explosions, and the mysterious Thin Man. From the acclaimed music-video director McG (Joseph McGinty), CHARLIE'S ANGELS wastes little time on plot, instead presenting audiences with a series of spectacular MATRIX-style fight sequences, car chases, and stunts. Diaz, Barrymore, and Liu as the three Angels give terrific performances worthy of a new breed of female action hero, kicking major butt while remaining lovable and sexy. The movie also stars Bill Murray as the Angels' mentor, Bosley, and John Forsythe as the voice of Charlie.
