Three features. 'Charlie's Angels' is based on the babe-a-licious show from the 1970s, and is a defiantly goofy action movie featuring plenty of comedy and a strong sense of girl power. Three talented young women work for the mysterious Charles Townsend: Natalie (Cameron Diaz), the bubbly blond science expert; Dylan (Drew Barrymore), the rebellious tomboy; and Alex (Lucy Liu), the tough Angel who has trouble telling her boyfriend that she's a highly skilled secret agent. The Angels are assigned to locate Eric Knox (Sam Rockwell), a kidnapped computer expert whose new software could threaten global security if it were to fall into the wrong hands. The women go undercover to investigate this devious tycoon and are faced with double crosses, explosions, and the mysterious Thin Man. From the acclaimed music-video director McG (Joseph McGinty), CHARLIE'S ANGELS wastes little time on plot, instead presenting audiences with a series of spectacular MATRIX-style fight sequences, car chases, and stunts. Diaz, Barrymore, and Liu as the three Angels give terrific performances worthy of a new breed of female action hero, kicking major butt while remaining lovable and sexy. The movie also stars Bill Murray as the Angels' mentor, Bosley, and John Forsythe as the voice of Charlie. Also includes 'Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle' and 'The Sweetest Thing'.
Advantages: Funny, entertaining Disadvantages: Lots of sexual innuedno
...Charlie?s AngelsFullThrottle is the second in the Charlie?s Angels films.
For anyone who doesn?t know, Charlie?s Angels are 3 women, Natalie, Dylan and Alex (played by Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu) who work undercover for the elusive Charlie. The films are based on the TV series from the 70?s (I think), and neither the films nor the series reveal Charlie?s face, all communication is done via a telephone speaker.
The Plot
This film begins in Outer Mongolia, where the Angels have been sent to rescue US Marshal Ray Carter (Robert Patrick) who has been kidnapped and his ring stolen. Shortly after he is rescued, a second man is attacked and his ring is also stolen (I can?t remember the name, but he was played by Bruce Willis). The rest of the film follows the Angels on their mission to recover the two rings. The rings...

Advantages: None Disadvantages: You'll never get those 88 minutes back
...Directed by Roger Kumbel, The SweetestThing stars Cameron Diaz as Christine, a 28 year-old commitment-phobe, and Christina Applegate and Selma Blair as her best friends Courtney and Jane.
Apparently, screenwriter Nancy Pimental based the main characters on herself and her best friend, the actress Kate Walsh (you may know her as Dr Addison Montgomery on Grey's anatomy and Private Practice).
I went to see this film when it was released in 2002, thinking it would be a lighthearted comedy perfect for a lazy afternoon. As it turned out, although certainly lighthearted, it was sadly lacking in the comedy department.
The film opens with a series of men telling us (the audience) about Christine Walters. These are her disgruntled ex-suiters, who complain that she's a "player", doesn't want anything serious, said...

Advantages: The Angels, Bernie Mac, humour, innuendo. Disadvantages: OTT action sequences, lack of plot.
...Yes, I was bored. I admit it, and it was a choice of this or "Bruce Almighty". However, I watched the first Charlie's Angels movie and I liked it! The first movie was an enjoyable no brain popcorn romp featuring three beautiful women kicking ass in skimpy outfits while performing Matrix-lite kung fu. Charlie's Angels: FullThrottle is like that, but there's more. Charlie's Angels: FullThrottle (CAFT from now on) suffers from sequelitis. Sometimes, this is a good thing (Aliens, Terminator 2, Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey) and sometimes it's a bad thing (Matrix: Reloaded, Beverley Hills Cop 2, Predator 2).
Returning for a second time are the three Angels - Dylan, Natalie and Alex who, in the opening sequence which sets the scene for the rest of the movie (not only in plot, but in style and content), rescue Agent Ray Carter by...
