I chose this DVD originally as you can see the changes which Charlie Brooks went through on the DVD cover. It is not like other workout DVDs where the individual was always a model or a size 0! It made me think if charlie can do It so can I.
The DVD had a number of sections each of which are different and target different areas and fitness requirements.
The sections are: warm-up disco combat high intensity pilates cool down
Each section lasts for about 10 mins - but it sure feels like a lot longer - you can really feel the burn!
With regards to each section
The warm-up is great and definately gets you going. For a non-dancer at first I got a little confused and was worried that if I was getting lost in the warm-up how on earth was I going to do with the rest of the DVD, but trust me stick with it and it becomes second nature.
The disco section is good and definately more workout based than dance based - you could not do this on the dance floor at your local club. However it does get a little repetitive.
The combat section is great - be careful and do it slowly, as I pulled a muscle in my back the first time i did it. This is because you are twisting your whole body around a lot. But I found this section fun and you can really sweat it out and feel those muscles toning. I love this section and often skip through the disco section to reach this section.
The high intensity - gives you a similar feeling as the combat section and you know that you have done a great workout.
The pilates section - although the cool down - is tough. But for anyone with a pot belly - even after a couple of sessions you are standing better and looking slimmer.
Overall I would recommend this DVD to anyone who is not really really unfit.
The different sections means that you can skip to the section you want and get a quick workout if you only have 20-30 mins to spare. The sections also mean that you are not doing the same sort of exercise throughout and do get some variety.
