Chaos Film Only review
Chaos film details: Directed by: Thomas Giglio Genre: Crime, Action, Thriller Runtime: 106 minutes Certification: 15 (UK) Starring: Jason Statham (yummmmmm) Ryan Phillipe Wesley Snipes
Plot: When a bank is held up and everybody inside is kept hostage, the only request by the main criminal Lorenz is that suspended detective, Quentin Conners is got on the line and brought into the case.
Det. Conners was susupended for the accidental killing of an innocent woman when a criminal held a gun to her head and a bullet was shot at her by accident killing her outright.
Conners is brought into the case with a new "baby sitter" Det. Shane Dekker. They get on the confusing case, when the robbers dissappear during an explosion in the bank, but the police at stumped when no money is stolen, and nothing else has been taken from the bank.
Det. Conners and Det. Dekker get onto it, searching for the accomplices but each one is killed just as the police get to them. Scuppering their chances of finding out what is going on.
The storyline isn't too complicated, but isn't so simple that it's predictable, making it an interested and gripping storyline!
My Opinion:
Jason Statham is one of my favourite actors, so when I saw he was in this film, I decided to watch it. Chaos was playing on Sky Movies last night, there was nothing else on, and I wanted to watch a VERY sexy guy hehe, so Chaos was put on.
The film is great, the storyline is easy to follow, but not simple, meaning that although it's not impossible to understand what is going on, it's also not at all predictable, and there is a fabulous twist in the storyline, which I loved! :)
The thing I like most about this film is it pushes the boundries of normal films, with the ending not following the usual conventions of action/thriller films.
The only thing I have to criticise is Jason Stathams accent in the film. I can't really work out if he is trying to speak in an American accent (if you don't know of the actor, he is British, and speaks in a strong London cockney accent), but in Chaos he has a London accent twinged with American. Now it could be that he has been living in America since his film career went from British films (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch) to American films (Transporter 1,2 and 3, Crank 1 and 2, Death Race), and his accent has taken on an American twinge, in which case it's fine, but if he is trying to speak in an American accent then it fails badly, and you can constantly hear the cockney coming through!
But other than that, the storyline is excellent, there is enough comedy througout the film to keep it interesting and not too serious. I have really changed my opinion on action thrillers since getting into Jason Stathams work, mainly because of how hot he is haha, but this is up there with the best.
A must see for all action thriller fans, but also anybody who has an aversion to action thrillers! This is a fab film for both men and women! :)
