Advantages: Excellent acting all through Disadvantages: Thoroughly depressing story
...The topic tackled in Chandni Bar is very brave and quite different to the regular glitz and glamour of most Bollywood films and was a major hit with cinema-goers when released in 2001. This film directed by Madhur Bhandarkar is definitely targeted at an adult audience and is rated 15. The excellent screenplay is by Mohan Azaad and the lead character Mumtaz is played by Tabu (Vijaypath, Silsillay, Hawa, Chachi 420, Tarkieb).

Advantages: Songs, sometimes the comedy, Shahrukh Disadvantages: Story, Some of the actions, find out more by yourself
...that the fellow students make fun of his appearance and age. So, if the hero is always humiliated, then the director always gives him a chance to regain his fame. So gets Shahrukh. In the college database, he finds out his brother’s photograph and eventually his brother gets into a trouble in the college at that very moment. So he does some superman kind of stuff and saves his brother. That brings him close to the students.
Now, if hero is there, heroine is bound to come. So comes Chandni (Susmita Sen), a chemistry teacher of the same college. Major Ram at once falls in love. Don’t ask more about this Chandni character. She didn’t have enough to act. She was used as a glamour idol, that’s it. Hero and heroine are there, now the turn of the villain to come. Comes Raghaban, trying to kill Sanjana. Ram protects her by all means...
