Advantages: Compelling viewing Disadvantages: You might notice you've lost a huge chunk of your life
It's the nineteen-eighties and Thatcher is closing down everything in sight, there's this "Robbie Williams" type character (Everybody loves him, but I can't see why, and yet I can't bring myself to dislike him).
Our hero, Stephen Crane (Clive Owen), is working for a big city finance house under the tutelage of a public school bore (The delicious Leslie Philips) and competing for promotion with the heir to a stately home and title, Piers (Simon Shepherd).
... ...him to lose his job, steal some money from his boss and become the knight in shining armour for an old-fashioned British car maker.
But, I'm giving away the plot, there are many twists and turns and shifts in allegiances, tragedy hits left right and centre. Absolutely nobody ever gives a straight answer to any question.
