Review of Gone With The Wind (Special Edition Box Set) by vancouver12

Advantages: lavish dated drama with endless detail, finery and spectcle
Disadvantages: too long, over done , too many tricks for the viewer

...This epic is big in every sense of the word. It is a blockbuster to end all blockbusters. The light and shade of the intense colour sometimes overwhelms the speeches in each scene. Can you spot where Clark Gable isnt dancing? Can you spot the civil war scene where humans werent used? The film has various effects and tricks to keep you going through the extended viewing time. It is a marathon of eye candy and with every part polished to shine the brightest; all this quality can be overpowering. Every emotion is presented to you to experiance. There are smaller scenes in which close up camera work observes the minute detail of an era long gone. A society of ettiquette, manners and a code.... Read review

perhaps one of the best comedies ever
Review of Bo Selecta - Series 1, 2 And 3 (Box Set) by samska110

Advantages: A great comedy that points fun at celebrities
Disadvantages: May offend a few people

.... In one of the series there is a serious insult to red haired people, but my brother is red haired and he laughed, but you may find it highly offensive. This box set is definatly worth a watch. Lots of immature behaviour included..enjoy... Read review

Everything that could of went wrong, did
Review of Meet The Parents DVD by Mopemaster

Advantages: Hilarious, great cast, great plot, nothing wrong at all!
Disadvantages: not that I can think of.

...Here is the run down on what was a definate blockbuster in the US and is sure to be here too. Just give it time. Amazing actors Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro meet in this great comedy along with lots of other semi famous celebrities but it really is a great cast. The whole film is based on the idea that Greig (Ben Stiller) is going to propose to his girlfriend but, following the footsteps of her sisters fiancee, he goes to meet her parents, and mainly her dad first, to ask his permission. From losing the bag with the ring on the plane to breaking the vase that kept his girlfriend's gran's ashes to breaking his girlfriends sister's nose to setting the house on fire and many other mishaps, this trip certainly has it's fair share of accidents. It really doesn't help that his last name is Focker and his legal first name is Gaylord... Read review
