Advantages: Bizarre comedy, great cast, it's a real grower Disadvantages: The humour is probably not to everyone's taste, no DVD extras
...The title I've chosen could well apply to a number of the things Vic and Bob have been involved in, or just the guys themselves, but in this instance it refers to their comedy seriesCatterick.
WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?
Catterick is a 6 episode (30 mins each) comedy series written by Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer and directed by Matt Lipsey (Armstrong and Miller), which has been shown on BBC3 and, more recently, BBC2. I managed to miss both of those showings, mostly because I'd never heard of it and so wasn't looking out for it. However, I've been lucky enough to be introduced to it by a friend who owns the series on DVD.
The series is set in the village of Catterick, which I assumed was a fictional location until the internet search I did just prior to writing this review, but is in fact a real village in North Yorkshire, about 10 miles...

Advantages: great comedy Disadvantages: only episodes and no extras on the DVD
...Still Game series1 is a great season to own as it takes you right back to where the series began, as well as it offers the freshest humour Jack and Victor have to offer.
This season also features other favourite characters such as Boabby the barman, Isa, Winston,Tam,Navid, and many others.
Still Game Series1DVD features all the episodes from the first series of the popular scottish comedy, which was broadcasted back in 2002.
For the price of the DVD boxset, I truely believe that the price is a great deal and of course, provides you with hours of enjoyment.
I definately recommend the still game series1DVD to anyone - it is definately a must have for any scottish comedy lovers out there....

Advantages: amazing speical effects and is for the whole family Disadvantages: not for very young people as slight violence
...i purchased this dvd about three weeks ago and after seeing the series on the tv i was amazed that i was still hooked .
this series is good for the whole family but you might want to check it as there is some swearing and sex involved.
There is something in this series for everyone, for the children there are aliens and the fact that theres amazing affects and excitement. For the men theres a lot of violence and sexy scenes.
There is also a womens aspect as this a action based, alien, crime detective thriller.
This dvd is also packed with loads of speical features and deleted scenes.
There is a large amount of viewing time to be had out of this dvd and so
it is great value for money....
