Advantages: vivid color and great actors Disadvantages: adult humor
...This movie was hilarious. I think they did a great job transfering the book into a movie since the cast and the character matched up perfectly. the bonus features were great. I really loved all of the colors in this movie and the shapes, they matched the book perfectly. I would deffinetly recomend this movie to adults and teens, but I would not recomend this to children. Yes, its a kids movie, but it has very adult humor. It might be ok for younger children who dont understand the concept of the humor in this movie, but older kids might walk around copying the phrases in this movie and might just get themselves in a lot of trouble. Overall though, as a DVD, I would deffinetly recomend this movie. Its hilarious....

Advantages: Entertaining and Relaxing Disadvantages: None
...This movie is very similar to the book and just as enjoyable. I remember reading this book as a child and then watching this movie as an adult gave me a lot of enjoyment. I always loved Dr. Seuss books. His movies are also excellent. The movies entertain the children and adults as well.
Watching the movie starts out with the children watching the raining and their mother is not home. Then they get a visitor who is a mischevious cat who walks on two legs and has a funny hat on. The cat want to juggle and show the children all kinds of tricks but the cat ends up getting the house messy. There is water all over the house and then the children worry about cleaning up the house. Then the cat performs all kinds of miracles....

Advantages: For kids, pushes all the right buttons. Disadvantages: None of note
...This film initially received some bad reviews... But I didn't don't listen to critics then, and hey I don't now...
Yes, Dr Seuss might well have been turning rather quickly in his grave when it was first released and it might well be unlike his wonderful book, but it is a film that hopes to entertain young children and that is exactly what it did for mine. My four and half year old daughter was sat riveted to it when we watched it for the first time in 2004, perched on the edge of her chair. She did not stop talking about it for weeks after we saw it, and now both my kids have it on DVD and it makes a frequent trip to the DVD player...
There are bits of adult humour here too, just so that us grown ups can find funny things as well.
The Plot
Sally and Conrad are at home, being looked after by an elderly babysitter...
