Who never dreamed a day to endorse the famous costume of Robinson Crusoe, lost in the beach of a paradisiac island, and who would spend his days to eat, leaned with a coconut, fresh coconuts, to enjoy lobsters roasted with the wood fire, to live humbly of hunting and fishing, to stroll under the palm trees and more not to think of daily worries of modern civilization?
At the release of this film, the large majority of the televiewers were expected a new fairy-like adaptation of this tale. And well, undeceive, it is not this image (in extreme cases of stereotypes) which characterizes this film! On the contrary, this American movie presents the difficulties, setbacks and disillusions of a businessman, in fact Tom Hanks, after its plane crashed in the sea, is found lost and without resources in a deserted island and who must quickly relearn the fundamental gestures to survive! And which is found quickly confronted with other material but also psychological problems (loneliness and its effects on the human!).
This film is tinted of realism and humour, and dresses the problems which could encounter a shipwrecked man in such a case. How to nourish itself when one has nothing. That to make its days. Because loneliness becomes quickly invading, and Tom Hanks is obliged, not to lose the reason, to create an imaginary friend, Wilson, kind of Friday played by one... ball of volley ball!!
In addition, it exposes also the problems dregs to the return has civilization, and raises the question of knowing what is finally best, or then the least bad: to remain only but free on a deserted island, or to find the modernism and apparent comfort, but to give up its joy in life.
In short, you will have understood it, this film mixes the comic one (adventures of Tom Hanks) with the tragedy (loneliness). The actor is in addition really imposing, interprets with talent his role and gives a realistic image and upsetting conditions of a shipwreck. However, the aim of this film is above all to divert you and to make you laugh, and undoubtly, it reaches this goal!
I spent a good time, which is why I advice you to buy the DVD of this film!
