The Film Cast Away, begins with a FedEx systems engeneer (Chuck) (AKA Hanks), living his life through work, being a very busy man, going across the globe to sort out problems at short notice, any time. Chuck's fast paced work life comes to a sudden crashing halt, when his FedEx cargo plane that hes traveling on, crashes in seveer wheather out at sea. Leaving Hanks to be washed up on an uninhabbited dessert island. All Chuck now possesses is that of what he is wearing and a few washed up packages from the plane itself. Now the film follows Hanks on his survival story, and how he survives and lives.. isolated completly on his own apart from wilson, a washed up vollyball.
Throughout this film we see what a talented actor Hanks realy is, how, on such a basic storyline, throws out a brilliant masterpiece which leaves us on the edges of our seats throughout, from making fire, to his dental troubles.
From this film we learn that mankind as we no it rely and depend on basic items such as a lighter or a shoe.... Hanks learns this and learns to live from the earth. A vital lesson we should not take for granted.
Overall i thought this film was excellent, and very enjoyable to watch. And to add to this i think its a great 'family film' to watch.

The bonus disk offers a wide range of bonus material, from interviews with Hanks, making of the film, special effects to storyboards and trailers for the film. Overall i think that u get a realy good value for money with this added disk.
I thought this film was going to be really boring when I first watched it - one man on a dessert island and all that stuff. I was amazed at how very good it was - Hanks kept me enthralled throughout. Lexy
I'm afraid I was completely underwhelmed by this movie. My enduring memory is of Tom Hanks talking to a football...never again! Welcome to Ciao, Wolf x
