With Casino Royale, the Bond series had fresh new life breathed into it with the new replacement Bond, Daniel Craig. Craig was fresh and exciting, and brought a much more modern feel to the classic Bond that many of us love and enjoy. Since this movie was released as a box office success, another one has already been released, Quantum Of Solace, in which Craig also played Bond's role incredibly well.
A very large portion of this story is based on action scenes, involving many different weapons and vehicles, but the main one obviously being the classic Aston Martin DB9, apparently the crew went through about 20 of these in their stunt acts. These action packed scenes give bond a different style to previous encounters, but the rest of the film keeps in tone with the Bond that everyone is used to, stylish and cool.
The story is based on a proffesional poker player called Le Chiffre, he is very rich and also supports terrorism for his personal gain. Le Chiffre has decided to host a 10 million pound buy in poker game, with the prize a potential £150, and MI5 cannot allow him to win this as he would use the winnings to fund terrorism, Bond must enter the competition to stop Le Chiffre and prevent terrorism. But he also meets a girl along the way, and there is one shocking twist at the end that I will not ruin for anyone yet to see this movie.
This new Bond has everything; Girls, cars, style and action. It really is a fantastic movie and gave the Bond series a complete makeover with Daniel Craig, who has now become my favourite actor, I would certainly recommend seeing it and Quantum Of Solace.
