Sitting and watching this film was a real treat. I started this film with little to no real expectations of it being great.
As a Pierce Brosnan "Bond" fan, I didn't think that Daniel Craig could match him. However not seeing any of his other films prior to Casino Royale, I had nothing to judge this on.
However the dark look into the life of bond is what this film needed and executed well. Similar to way Batman Begins and Superman Returns went, this was very successful in the new Bond film.
It was really interesting to see how events happened and how his habits occured through Eva Green's character. Such as his drink, the tuxedo and even the gun he uses.
Overall this film was good and even though it didn't feel like a bond feel at the beginning, I certainly felt like it was a bond film at the end with the classic line, "the names bond, james bond!".
The film is filled with alot of action and stunts which keeps interest throughout and mild sexual references which makes Bond film's what it is.
I would certainly recommend this to a bond fan and even to someone who isn't a fan of bond. A great film, a great watch, a great buy!

I see you've posted this as a DVD review, but you've not mentioned the DVD features. Are there any extras? If so, what are they and are they any good? If you add to this, or if you change it to be posted as a "Film Only" review, which can be done by accessing "edit review" above the review and changing the drop down menu under the "Which format are you reviewing?" question at the bottom, please let me know and I'll re-rate.
