Carry On At Your Convenience (Special Edition)

Advantages: If you like the Saucy harmless Comedy this is for you
Disadvantages: Unfortunately very few of the regular team were in this.

...To me this even though it was among the last of the Carry On films is one of the best. Basically a comedic send up of the Sylvia Kristell Emmanuelle films. Williams is hilarious as the French ambasador as is Suzanne Danielle who plays his wife she will sleep with anything that moves. Classic performances from Joan Sims, Peter Butterworth and Kenneth Connor as the randy Chauffer Leyland. Jack Douglas absolutely brilliant as the butler Lions who Suzanne Daniels affectionately refers to as ''Loins''. Many have said that this is the bottom end of the Carry On series but i would really recommend you watch this, i laughed all the way through. Advantages: entertaining, great cast, funny
Disadvantages: a tried and tested formula, nothing new

...is very similar to one in another Carry On with Joan Sims innocently playing cards. This is not to say that Carry On Matron is a bad film. It is well worth watching, but it wouldn’t be in my top favourites. You get most of the regular cast here – Sid, Hattie, Barbara Windsor, Charles Hawtrey, Kenneth Williams, Terry Scott, Joan Sims, Kenneth Connor, Bernard Bresslaw – with appearances from Carry On babes such as Margaret Nolan, Jacki Piper and Valerie Leon. Wendy Richard features early on in the film too, a world away from Pauline Fowler! With Jim Dale absent from this one, Kenneth Cope (Randall and Hopkirk, Brookside) returns to the leading male ‘hunk’ after his success in Carry On At Your Convenience. This time, he spends most of the film in a nurse’s uniform! Bernard Bresslaw also gets to wear a wig and a dress, while Hawtrey and Williams... Read review
