DVD Description
This farcical comedy about a small Pacific Island (a British colony) that discovers valuable mineral deposits in its land. Terry-Thomas plays Carlton Browne of the British Foreign Office, an inept and workshy middle-aged man still living at home, and an embarrassment to his elderly parents, a Sir and Lady respectively. Word arrives at the FO of an uprising on the island of Gaillardia, which is officially a British Colony, if by accident, though no-one seems to have ever heard of it. Since valuable mineral deposits have been found there, a bun fight begins to claim ownership of the island. It's under Carlton-Browne's jurisdiction so he's despatched (very reluctantly) to the Island to cement good relations with the islanders, with typically hapless results. Peter Sellers plays Amphibulous. the corrupt Prime Minister who wants to cash in on the profits for himself.
