Advantages Advantages Way above average superhero film

Disadvantages Disadvantages Bit clunky in places

Star – Chris Evans Certificate – 12a Run Time – 124 minutes Country – USA Genre – Super hero Rental – Triple play edition (choose your fmormat option) Rental – £2.99 per night@Blockbuster ---------------------------------------------------- Ever since the tantalizing and extremely brief appearance of the iconic Captain America shield in Tony Stark’s lab in the brilliant Iron Man I have been looking forward to this movie. He was my favorite superhero as a kid and what the comic books were supposed to be all about, delivering a rather raw and stripped down movie around a more human character ... more

Advantages Advantages Good effects (Red Skull makeup and skinny Steve CGI), Good performance from the whole cast

Disadvantages Disadvantages Action didn't thrill me like other superhero films, ending just feels like setup for The Avengers

Captain America may be the first Avenger, but his movie is the last film leading up to next year’s blockbuster The Avengers. As a superhero fan I cannot wait to see the stars of the Incredible Hulk, Ironman and Thor team up on the big screen, but before all that I had to see how the live action Cap would turn out. Hopefully better than the direct to video disaster we got back in the nineties staring Matt Salinger. As a Marvel reader there was no chance that I would miss the movie, although truth be told I’m not all that crazy about the character. My exposure to Captain America is actually ... more

Advantages Advantages Great actors and acting, good story line, plenty of action, bit of romance, great CGI,

Disadvantages Disadvantages The ending is a little disappointing

There seems to be a continuous stream of super-hero movies at the moment and if I'm perfectly honest I'm getting a little bored. Yes, they're all different superheroes and they all have different powers but essentially the plot lines are all the same. Bad guy emerges. Ordinary man suddenly turned into superhero. Superhero saves world. Life goes on. This is why I was so surprised that I was actually really looking forward to the release of Captain America. I had no idea who Captain America was or what he could do but from the minute I watched the trailer I knew this was a movie I had to see ... more

Advantages Advantages A strong cast and effects.

Disadvantages Disadvantages A lack of suspense and under-developed supporting players.

It’s 1942 and scrawny civilian Steve Rogers has just been turned down for military service for the umpteenth time. He’s determined to join the fight against the Nazis and signs up for a secret project, where a newly developed serum created by Dr Erskine transforms him into a super-soldier. Reborn as Captain America, he’s pushed into performing publicity stunts by the government. But when he hears his loyal friend Bucky Barnes has disappeared, he drops out of the stage show and hares off in hot pursuit.
