Advantages: Great live performances Disadvantages: Not as heavy as studio recordings (more a comment than criticism)
I have been a fan of the Foo Fighters for many years now, and was eager to get my hands on their live album 'Skin and Bones'. The band were formed by Dave Grohl, the former drummer for Nirvana, in 1995. However, Grohl is the lead singer and guitar maestro for the Foo Fighters, and the drumming seat is taken by Taylor Hawkins, the former tour drummer for Alanis Morrisette.
'Skin and Bones' was released in November 2006, and is the band's first live performance CD, featuring tracks performed on their 3 day tour of the same year. It features hits such as 'Next Year', 'My Hero' and 'Times Like These'. It also features a revamped lineup solely for the tour/album, including former Foo Fighters guitarist Pat Smear.
These are the tracks:
1. Razor
2. Over And Out
3. Walking After You
4. Marigold
5. My Hero
6. Next Year
7. Another ...
Advantages: Well acted, keeps you engaged throughout Disadvantages: None
LivingIn Oblivion is a low budget independent film written and directed by Tom DiCillo and starring Steve Buscemi and Dermot Mulroney.
Sure, these aren't A-list stars, but that lends itself to the story. If it was a film about the making of a film and you had George Clooney and Brad Pitt pretending to be small time actors you wouldn't believe it. That's why it was better to use less well known actors, it pulls you more into the story.
The film takes place during one day on set of a low budget movie, and documents all the problems that the director, Nick (Buscemi), and everyone else can encounter, from equipment malfunctioning to office politics to actors forgetting their lines. It's almost like a documentary, it is very realistic and gives you the complete story as to what it's like trying to get a film made.
There are a few ...
Advantages: Good puzzle, suspense Disadvantages: None
. It's easy to see that Rhyme is depressed and wants to end his life now as he thinks he has nothing to live for but then this case comes along and it piques his interest again and suddenly he has something to live for.
The crime scene Amelia stumbles across is that of a serial killer who is known for his signature of removing a single shard of bone from each of the victims. From his bed Rhyme instructs Amelia on how to collect the evidence from the numerous crime scenes and then they both interpret the evidence. At each crime scene they find a scrap of paper which when put together reveals the shocking intent of the serial killer.
I liked the fact that this movie was a puzzles solver and that they had to piece together clues although the clues and their conclusions were nothing to viewer could piece together, you just had to let ...
