DVD Description
In this wacky satire on the cold war mentality, the president of the United States and an arms manufacturer find it in their best economic interests to plant rumours of a potential nuclear attack--by Canada. Then, following a border incident at a hockey tournament, a patriotic sheriff and his deputies plan a counteroffensive...with hilarious results. Directed by activist-writer-television mogul Michael Moore, CANADIAN BACON combines the talents of John Candy and Dan Aykroyd with such actors and comedians as Steven Wright, Rip Torn, and James Belushi. The film is reminiscent of the terrific Peter Sellers vehicle THE MOUSE THAT ROARED, which dealt with the Duchy of Grand Fenwick declaring war on the United States in order to lose and thus receive millions in reparations.

...or to really surprise. Films like this work perfectly well on TV, and aren’t too much of a disappointment if you hire them out on DVD. As a cinema release, however, Trapped really doesn’t offer value for money, and the whole thing just feels as though nobody really cares about it. By the time I left the auditorium, I know that I didn’t.

Advantages: Excellent movie and very good DVD extras Disadvantages: Some repetition of interviews
...<DVD Extras>
***I have put the DVD Extras first as many people will already have read much about the actual movie! I have also included an updated and expanded version of my original movie opinion; having watched the movie several times I am able to be a little more indepth!***
-Theatrical (PG-13) version of the film – this is the main reason for buying the movie! I am unsure if it truly merits a PG-13 rating as my 11 year olds found it to be very watch able. There are a few gruesome parts in the movie but generally I believe the movie is suitable for 11+. Parts to watch out for that may cause ‘children’ to have nightmares – one scene where Bilbo’s eyes bulge and his tongue goes purple (this is at Rivendell as he asks to have a look at the ring) – my kids actually laughed at this part...

Advantages: Great script, acting and plot. Super music. Disadvantages: No extra features
...take them to the police academy where they plan to take a trainee under secondment so that they can be sure of his honesty, and after a little humour, George Stone (Andy Garcia) is the final recruit in the quartet that will become known as The Untouchables.
From this point in, the film really gets going. Raids are made Capone's secret booze stores and obviously this gets him riled up. Interrupting a deal which goes down on the American / Canadian border suddenly drops a vital piece of information into the lap of the Untouchables in the shape of Capone's coded ledger which could, if decoded, give Ness and his men all the evidence they need to convict Capone. If you want to know what happens after this is, you'll have to watch!
Other elements.
The acting is generally of a high standard with both Costner and De Niro putting in super...
