Advantages: Hilarious comedy with a great cast and superb Dangerfield performance Disadvantages: depends on your tolerance for the late comic's humor

Now, if you are interested, I would like to recommend to you all some of Rodney’s best work, so let me tell you what is available. Unfortunately for the UK, the DVD for BACK TO SCHOOL is only available on Region 1, though you can obtain a PAL/VHS copy from your local video shop and there many copies available at www.ebay.co.uk. In addition, Rodney’s autobiography came out just this summer, and I’m also going to list some comedy CDs and other films here. Like I said, though, if you want premium Rodney Dangerfield, then BACK TO SCHOOL is as good as it gets.

DVD Description
Features Harold Ramis's directorial debut CADDYSHACK,a hysterical farce set at the typically hoity-toity Bushwood County club. A send-up of the typical class struggle, it pits the caddies against the establishment with riotous results. This wacky comedy features insanely funny performances from Bill Murray, as the local groundskeeper obsessed with killing off the gophers who are infesting the golf course, as well as Chevy Chase as a wealthy anti-establishment member of Bushwood and Rodney Dangerfield, who shines as a land-shark real estate mogul who couldn't care less about the rules and regulations at the snobby club. In CADDYSHACK 2, Jack Hartounian (Jackie Mason) has made a fortune as a contractor but must put up a fight so he and his daughter, Kate, can join the exclusive Bushwood Country Club. More than anything, Kate longs to be accepted by the club's rich members, who include her college roommate, Miffy. However, Miffy's parents, Chandler and Cynthia Young, mount a tough campaign to make sure the Hartounians stay out of their beloved club -- and they succeed. To get revenge, Jack buys the majority of Bushwood's stock and transforms the club into an extravagant park open to all. But the club's members still refuse to leave. Eventually, the confrontation can only be solved with a new money versus old money battle on the links.
Advantages: Totally hilarious Disadvantages: Poor transfer to DVD
..., and it lead to him playing many other similar roles (loud, brash, bigmouth) in the future.
A sequel to Caddyshack called (believe it or not!) ‘Caddyshack2’ was made in 1988, but wasn’t directed by Harold Ramis, (Allan Arkush) and the only star surviving from the original movie was Chevy Chase. I’m sure he later regretted his decision, as it was/is absolute drivel, and an insult to the original movie.
~ ~ I already had Caddyshack recorded on tape, (from the telly) but had had my eye open for a DVD version for ages. I eventually got it at “ www.play.com” for the bargain price of only £9.99. (Delivery free)
But in all honesty, the picture and sound quality isn’t much better than my old, recorded VHS tape. About the only redeeming feature of the DVD is that it DOES come in widescreen, although the sound leaves a lot to be desired, as it’s recorded...

...' stage, and past several days of committing suicide in different ways, Murray finally decides on a life of good deeds.
Get the picture?
Inevitably, its well repetitive, but you have some real laughs with this one, so much so, that when Im feeling down, this is always put on. Great fun for the whole family.

Advantages: just one of the funniest films that i have seen Disadvantages: a couple of instances of "as if...!?".
...An excellent film which Sandler is superbly funny as a rubbish ice hockey player who can hit a puck harder than anyone has ever seen.
Realising he is never going to be a professional hockey player, he eventually bets his house movers that he can hit a golf ball further than they can, even though he hates golf and has never played before. He then realises that he could make a bit of money betting at this and heads off down the driving range.
There he is spotted by a one armed "apollo creed" who encourages him to take up golf.
Only when he has joined a tournament does he realise that he cant put to save his life.
The film produces some very funny performances from some past acting favorites as well as some Sandler regulars.
If you read the review on the back of the DVD which says "the best golfing video since Caddyshack", as i did...
