Bulletproof is directed by Ernest R. Dickerson, who is more at home directing TV shows. In a way, he has directed this film as if it was a TV show, and it lacks any real consistency in script, characters or performances. The same goes for the soundtrack, there is nothing which really stands out as memorable and at times the music doesn't really fit with the scene.

After a year of working together, pulling small time crimes together, Archie (Adam Sandler) and Rock (Damon Wayans) are the best of buddies. But when they get involved in a huge drugs racket for a local crime boss, Frank Colton (James Caan), everything changes. Rock is actually an undercover cop called Jack Carter, who has been using Archie to get information on Colton, and after a bungled attempt to bring down the crime racket, Archie accidentally shoots Jack in the head as he makes his escape.
After several months in rehabilitation, Jack is back on the force, a meaner and tougher cop than before. At the same time Archie is arrested and agrees to provide evidence on Colton's criminal activities, as long as Jack escorts him back. As they start their journey back, they both feel animosity to each other as they both feel betrayed. But after, Colton sends a gang of hired goons to try and silence Archie, they have to put their differences behind them and work as a team.

In reality this film was nothing more than a vehicle to demonstrate the comic talents of Adam Sandler and Damon Wayans. Which, although it's not going to make you cry out loud with laughter, it still has enough funny gags to keep you amused. The best part of the film is the lead up to the failed drugs bust, as you watch the closeness between Archie and Rock as they get into a scrape in a bar. Sadly, the rest of the film is not so good, and after the build up was a bit of a disappointment, although it still remained amusing.
The lead character of Jack (Rock) is played by Daman Wayans (The Last Boy Scout) and although at times is amusing, doesn't have the charisma to keep you entertained for the whole film. Part of the problem is that his character is not consistent, in one scene he will be funny, but in the next he is serious. Opposite Wayans is Adam Sandler (The Wedding Singer) as Archie. Although his character is consistently funny through out the movie, his performance is way short of what you would expect from Sandler. Along with these two, you have James Caan (The Godfather) as Frank Colton the crime boss. Yet again, his performance is good, but he never comes over as a really nasty crime boss.

Crime doesn't pay, friendship is important. Too be honest, their isn't that much meaning behind this film.
========== Conclusion & Rating ================
Although Bulletproof is not the greatest comedy ever made and has quite a few flaws, it is in general an enjoyable comedy which has a slightly dark side. It will of course appeal to fans of Adam Sandler, but it is also a reasonable film to watch if you enjoy the buddy style movies such as "Lethal Weapon" and "Bad Boys".
Bulletproof is available on Amazon for £6.97 which, in my opinion, is a little bit expensive.
Advantages: Adam Sandler and Damon Wayans make a good comedy team Disadvantages: Storyline, action and shoot outs are pretty average
...OVERALL - Bulletproof is an pretty good comedy film. Although its billed as a action comedy, the action is pretty poor. The story idea is ok as well but falls short in some parts with various bits being slightly unrealistic. The A Team springs to mind in some shoot outs! I believe this was Adam Sandlers first film so its a good starting point to see how he has progressed since then but the comedy from him will always be good. Overall i wouldnt spend ...

Advantages: Very funny,Adam Sandler Disadvantages: Offensive to some
First off I would like to say that the previous review wasn't completely true (In My Opinion obviously).
I would also like to note that I watched this movie around 15 times all together.
First off my uncle bought this for 5$ from a friend of his not expecting much but just because it included Adam Sandler.
But anyways, we started the movie and after abou 2-3 minutes we were already laughing at the way Adam was doing a handicapped impression. Later ...

the scroll, and with considerable wealth behind him he will now stop at nothing to obtain it.
Bulletproof Monk is based on a comic book, which very few people have ever heard of. I’d never heard about it, and only learnt this when researching the film on the Internet. Bulletproof Monk is also another example of a Hollywood attempt to make a martial arts movie, albeit with rather more fun thrown in. From the start, it was therefore always going to be on shaky ground. Comic book fans and martial art purists are united in their passion for their chosen obsessions and Bulletproof Monk probably pissed both groups of people off intensely. For those of us who know nothing of either comics or proper martial arts, Bulletproof Monk is more of a mixed bag. At times, the movie was utterly dreadful to the extent that many people would simply scoff ...
Advantages: Funny lines and cute guys Disadvantages: Lack of story
Bulletproof Monk is another comic book adapted for the big screen. It stars Chow Yun-Fat, Seann William Scott and James King in a comic martial arts movie. If you do not mind a limited plot or enjoy Jackie Chan style movies then this may be one you will enjoy, especially as the interaction between Chow Yun-Fat and Scott is similar to the interaction between Chan and Wilson in the Shanghai Knight Movies.
The Actors
Chow Yun-Fat plays a Tibetan martial arts master who has given up his name to assume his position as a monk in charge of a special scroll. This scroll if it fell into the wrong hands and read out loud would give the villain ultimate control . The charge of protecting the scroll is handed on to a new guardian every 60 years during the year of the Ram and the monks 60 years are almost up, if he cannot find a successor he ...
Advantages: Chow-Yun Fat Disadvantages: The rest of the film.
much predictable all the way through, and has a corny ending (I despise corny endings, but Hollywood can?t seem to avoid them). It was as if they made a martial arts movie because every one was doing it. I am not going to spoil the ending and tell you what happens because I feel they did a pretty good job of spoiling the ending them selves.
Damn I am making this movie sound really, really bad, I think I should say something nice?erm? it wasn?t as bad as Italian Job (2003) or 2 Fast 2 Furious, there that?s definitely a compliment.
This film is available on DVD or video from any video store or rental shop, not that you needed to know that because surely I must of put you off by now. ...
