My eldest sister bought the seasons 1-7 boxset of 'Buffy the vampire slayer' a number of years ago. Following this purchase, she suggested herself, our stepsister and I watch them. Having no opinion of the show, since I had not previously watched it, I agreed. Little did I know that this exact show would be so captivating and exciting.

Season 1 : -

I have to be honest and admit here that I did find the first season of Buffy boring, to be frank. In comparison to the other six seasons, this one did fail to impress me. However, understanding that it was filmed in 1996/1997, I can let it slide.

Buffy Ann Summers began her first year at 'Sunnydale high,' as she moved to LA with her mother, Joyce. Following her meeting with the school's librarian, Rupert Giles, she discovers that he is in fact, her watcher.

Buffy makes friends with Xander Harris, and Willow Rosenberg, and together they help stop strange goings-on in the town. Some of these include an angry witch, a dangerous substitute teacher, and an invisible student. Then there's the mysterious Angel, who Buffy takes an interest in, only to discover he is a vampire.

The last episode in this season shows buffy fighting to the death with 'The master.'

Season 2 : -

Buffy returns with the gang to another comic season. However, this season brings a lot more emotion than the first. Giles starts a relationship with a teacher at Sunnydale high, Ms Calendar, and a new slayer, Kendra is introduced after Spike and Drusilla's evil plans. Willow also discovers that her new boyfriend, Oz, is not what he appears to be.

As Buffy and Angel take their relationship to the next level, Angel's soul is taken away from him, and his dark side emerges. When Ms Calendar tries to curse Angel once again with his soul, Angel stops her for the last time.

Buffy is then forced to end Angel when he recieves his soul, and opens a demon that will suck the world into hell.

Season 3 : -

Buffy is hiding away the beginning of the season using a fake name of 'Anne,' but returns to Sunnydale to face yet more difficult times.

A new, powerful slayer named 'Faith,' is introduced to the season, but takes a turn to the dark side. The mayor is not all he appears to be, and works alongside Faith, to create an 'ascension,' which will kill everyone. Once again, Buffy and the gang save the day.

Season 4 : -

The gang have left school, and Buffy and Willow start a new life together in college. Spike in back in town, searching for a gem that will make him invincible, but he is taken in by an operation named the 'initiative', only to come back with a chip in his head, which prevents him from hurting others.

Buffy and Riley start a relationship together, whilst Willow starts one with Tara.

Season 5 : -

A new Summers girl is introduced to the show. Dawn is Buffy's 'sister' who has been created by monks. She is 'the key'.

An evil God named Glory is introduced to the show, and is desperately in search of 'the key,' hurting everyone and everything that gets in her way. Spike declares his love for Buffy,

In the last episode 'the gift' things take a horrifying turn when Dawn is held captive, and Buffy saves the day..by giving her life.

Season 6: -

Buffy is back, starts a new job at a fast food place, and starts sleeping with Spike. Xander announces his engagement to Anya, and Willow starts to use her magic a lot more.

A new trio have formed to be Buffy's Nemesis's. Johnathan, Andrew, and Warren.

Xander leaves Anya at the alter, and Warren shoots Tara, which results in a devestating end. After her death, Willow is pushed over the edge, and turns to the dark side.

Season 7 : -

Sunnydale high is rebuilt, and Buffy gets a job as the new school counsellor. Spike recieves his soul, and comes back struggling with sanity. The first evil has arose, and presenting itself in the form of deceased loved ones to everyone.

Johnathan is held captive at the Summer's household, and potential slayers from all around the world come together to help fight the first evil.

Faith is also back to help with the first, and Angel turns up with an amulet that says can help.

Spike puts on the Amulet, and sacrifices his life to stop the evil.

Personally, I think the sadest thing from this episode is when Buffy tells Spike she loves him, and he replies with 'No you Don't, But thanks for saying it.'

Overall, the whole show was amazing in my opinion, and I think will definately go down in history. I am very dissapointed that it's over but will remain my all-time favourite show.

I would recommend it to anyone who has not seen it before, or who has not seen all of it. It is definately worth watching. If you do decide to watch it all from the beginning, I would advise you to excuse the first and second series purely because the depth had not really been introduced to the show at this time.
