development into some gloomy places. The year begins with Buffy being raised from the dead by the friends who miss her, but who fail to understand that a sacrifice taken back is a sacrifice negated. Dragged out of what she believes to have been heavenly bliss, she finds herself "going through the motions" and entering into a relationship with the evil, besotted vampire Spike just to force her emotions.Willow becomes ever more caught up in the temptations of magic; Xander and Anya move towards marriage without ever discussing their reservations; Giles feels he is standing in the way of Buffy's adult independence; Dawn feels neglected. What none of them need is a menace that is, at this point, simply annoying--three high school contemporaries who have turned their hand to magical and high-tech villainy. Added to this is a hungry ghost, an invisibility ray, an amnesia spell and a song-and-dance demon (who acts as rationale for the incomparable musical episode "Once More With Feeling").This is a year in which chickens come home to roost: everything from the villainy of the three geeks to Xander's doubts about marriage come to a head, often--as in the case of the impressive wedding episode--through wildly dark humour. The estrangement of the characters from each other--a well-observed portrait of what happens to college pals in their early 20s--comes to a shocking head with the death of a major character and that death's apocalyptic consequences. The series ends on a consoling note which it has, by that point and in spite of imperfections, entirely earned. --Roz Kaveney

Any hard-core Buffy fan will notice a shift in the basics from season 5 to 6. After tge death of Buffy as the end of Season 5; season 6 started off very dark and this is something that stuck through till the final episodes of the season.
There was a mixed reaction with fans over this season. Some loved it some hated it and some just couldn't decide. Personally there is one episode that tips this season on the scales for me and thats Once More With Feeling. The first and original musical episode of a sci-fi drama!

~Personal Opinion~ Personally this isn't my favourite season of Buffy but it is still fantastic. It shows us a different side of not only the show but also the characters. Review of Buffy The Vampire Slayer - Series 6 - Complete (DVD)
Advantages: Buffy is not dead anymore Disadvantages: Buffy is lees funny and cheerfull.. which i guess death does to a person.
Everyone has their own favorite Buffy Season. Season 6 is definitely my personal favorite. i loved the fact that Buffy was resurrected, because let's face itl If she had not.. there would be no Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 6. For those of you who do not know who Buffy is here is my own description:
Buffy is supposed to be a care-free college student, but instead she has to battle the creatures of the night or in other words: Vampires!
She lives ... ...meant to be a secret. Buffy however shared her secret with her group of friends who helps her fight evil regularly. Her friends are: Xander, a somewhat weird guy who used to have a crush on Buffy in high school is now very much in love with an Ex-demon named Anya. Giles, the former librarian of Sunnydale high school, is the owner of the magic shop. He also used to be Buffy's 'watcher'.
Willow is Buffy's best friend who is a witch and only recently ...

Advantages: Gripping, Dark, Intense, Exploration Into Addiction, A Stunning Perfmance From Alyson HAnnigon Disadvantages: If You Just Start Watching You Wont Get The Heavy Story Arc
I have (had) been an avid fan of Buffy The VampireSlayer from the very first episode, with it?s winning mix of stunning performances, heavy, intriguing story arch?s, fantastic scripts and a good dose of ass whooping it drew me in straight away. It has to be one of the most influential television programmes in recent history and managed to gather a huge audience and a cult following. I (and I know this is sad) have every single box sets, there for have watched all the episodes more than once.
History of Buffy the VampireSlayer
Season 1: In every generation there is a Chosen One. She alone will stand against the vampires, the demons and the forces of darkness? She is the Slayer. For this generation that slayer is Buffy Summers, a beautiful young school student, who has recently moved to SunnyDale, as she was excluded from her last ...
Advantages: The fantastic, "Once More, With Feeling" musical episode Disadvantages: The overall plot arc isn't as tight as in previous seasons
Season six of Buffy the VampireSlayer saw a lot of changes, with the storylines becoming darker, more depressing and growing up a lot. Previous seasons of Buffy have always had a clear Big Bad - Angelus in season two, Adam in four and Glory in five - but for a lot of season six there's very little pointing to how the season will end.
Season six is mainly about life being the Big Bad - there won't always be monsters and vampires, but there'll always be money troubles, relationship disasters and loved ones getting hurt.
There's a lot to like about season six, but there's also several aspects that received a lot of criticism, and in comparison to the previous seasons it seems to have lost a lot of momentum. Nevertheless, it's still amazing and definitely worth watching.
I don't want to repeat the general information I put into my ...

(Willow, Tara, Anya and Xander are collectively known as ?The Scoobies?)
